Mellow May

Look back on my January, February, March and April accomplishments at the gym. Going to the gym 4x/week for EVERY week in April was really difficult. So in May I mellowed out and if I didn’t feel like going. I probably didn’t, and I didn’t feel one ounce of guilt. Why should I, right? I’m still working out when I can and when I feel like it — it’s so great!! YEAH!!

May 2 – 8:
Tues:
Learn to Run (5:00 – 6:00), we ended up doing a trail run for 5.69km’s and I felt strong! Breathing was good!
Thurs: Learn to Run (5:00 – 6:00), two hills and 4.2k later. I die. I blogged about how tough I felt it was towards the end.
Fri: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

May 9 – 15:
Tues: Learn to Run (5:00 – 6:00). It was rainy and cold out so a lot of people didn’t end up showing up to the class. Me and another woman did and the instructor popped on the treadmills with us to do an intense speed workout. I felt like death while doing it. 6 minutes on, 1 minute off. We ended up doing about 5k.
Thurs: Learn to Run (5:00 – 6:00). I always find it hard coming back around on the second loop and never get my second wind. Thankfully the girl I run with is the opposite of me and gives’er at the turn around. Motivation is awesome!

May 16 – 22:
Sun: First soccer game of the season. I didn’t feel tired. Must be all of the running I’ve been doing. YAY!!
Tues:
Learn to Run (5:00 – 6:00). I don’t remember this run lol
Thurs:
Learn to Run (5:00 – 6:00). 7 minutes of running and 1 minute of walking. It was sweltering out this day, but we felt good on the run!

May 23 – 29:
Mon: 2pm soccer game. I ended up missing the first half and gave it my all during second half. It’s too bad, because I ended up pulling my groin muscle. Taking it easy this week….
Tues:
Had to skip the Learn to Run program, and let my stupid groin heal. (No need for joint supplements!)
Thurs:
Learn to Run (5:00 – 6:00).It was a hot one outside this day so we did 4.5 or 5km’s and we timed it 4 minutes on, 30 seconds off. It was awesome!
Sat:
Learn to Run (8:30am – 9:30am) First time I did a Saturday morning run. I literally felt like I was going to vom at the end of it when she told me to sprint (because I think I have some sort of mental block where I want to stop when I see the finish line! LOL. We ended up running 6kms!

I don’t feel as if I did much this month. I think I’m going to have to start getting back into the indoor classes again!!

  1. Awesome! I totally don’t think you have to go to the gym to get in good exercise. You should do things that make you happy!! :)

  2. It seems the physiotherapy is helping your ankle. Nice to read that you are now playing soccer again. \o/
