I haven’t posted about my weekly CrossFit classes since July 30, and after that I did a CrossFit FAQ post. I took 2 weeks off because I was busy hanging out with some girls in San Diego, and then I got sunburnt and couldn’t move for a week. So I’m back at it again!

Week 26 Day 1.
Death by Pullups
Warmup was a 2k run. Ugh.
I ended up doing the first kilometer in 5:30, and then finished in 11 minutes. Not the fastest, but I was the second fastest person who was workign out that same time as me.
The Death by Pullups had me sore on the second day, third day and fourth. By that time it was the weekend and the new climbing gym had opened so I wanted to check that out instead!

Hey Nancy, I was wondering if you’d recommend Crossfit to a beginner? I have been in another gym for several months, it’s not quite as hardcore as crossfit but has a similar format (WOD, classes etc). A Crossfit gym is opening next week literally a 5 min walk from my home and they have sign up specials. I wanted to see what you thought?
Thanks :-)
Nancy says: Of course I would recommend CrossFit to a beginner. As you already know I’m a beginner myself only starting in February, and before that I didn’t do *anything*. I mean anything for 7 months. I didn’t play soccer, I didn’t climb, I didn’t exercise at all. So I was fairly weak when I started. Go ahead and join for sure!
Thanks Nancy! I called them today and they are giving me 2 classes for free to see how I like it. Even though I’ve been working out I’m still far from in shape. I’m trying to lose 50ish lbs! :-) The main reason I would switch to this place is just the convenience factor. I wouldn’t even need to drive there after work or better yet, could go to an early morning class (if I can drag my ass out of bed).
Thanks again :-)
