Halloween costumes for your kid — is it okay to re-use them?
My answer? Why the heck not? I asked my Mom back home in Newfoundland to dig up some old photos of me, in my favorite costume ever. I don’t even remember any of the other costumes I’ve worn as a kid, besides the odd clown, or princess.
The bunny outfit shown below was made by a friend of the family’s. She made this for her girls a few years prior to me and I got it as a hand-me-down for Halloween. I remember absolutely loving it, and I was so sad when I grew out of it a few years later. How cute!!Home made costumes are way better than store bought ones any day. No matter how awesome looking and how well they’re sewed together the new ones lately have been.
Mind you, if I ever have kids. They’ll most likely be sporting the store-bought ones because I seriously have no patience for the sewing machine, and I’m half afraid of the sewing needle to break in half as I go, flicking back at me and going in my eyeball or some freak accident like that.
I can’t believe I was only 5 when I wore it. Ages ago.
Have fun trick-or-treating tonight, kiddos!
What were some of your favorite Halloween costumes as a kid?

Love this costume! So much fun to take a trip down memory lane. I remember loving my (red) M&M costume because I got to wear red lipstick and white silky gloves :) Happy Halloween!
