I eat McDonalds and STILL stay fit…

FAQ’s answered!

Candi asks: How do you balance eating McDonald’s and staying fit? hahaha every girl needs to know this.

My answer:
I’m actually a pretty picky eater at McDonalds. My orders aren’t as high calorie as some of the items on the menu. For instance, the only things I like to eat there is:

  • Plain double cheeseburger without the extra patty (not the sesame seed bun one’s – but the flat almost squished looking buns)
  • 6 piece Chicken nuggets
  • French fries!!!

Occasionally I’ll grab a snack wrap, or a jr chicken. But that’s about it. Drinks on the other hand – omg my mouth is watering just thinking about it:

  • Chocolate milk shake
  • Root Beer
  • Vanilla sundae with caramel sauce and nuts

Plus. I don’t have McDonalds as often as I would like. If I notice that I’m getting a little more chub around my waist, I take a step back in eating and start bringing my lunches with me at work. lol. That’s the lamest answer ever. But it’s true!

We never eat out for supper (it’s seriously a rare treat that we do go out for supper). So it’s only lunch time’s that I eat “bad” and even then, it’s infrequent. I’m also naturally a thin person. I have my Father’s build (long and lean) and really love to stay active and fit, so I suppose that definitely helps.

My honest answer. As always. Not as technical as I’m sure as most would like, but hey. It’s what you get over here.

Giorgio Armani Spring 2013

Giorgio-Armani

I don’t think I have a favorite for the Spring collections coming out, from Make Up For Ever, YSL and now Giorgio Armani. Seems like a lot of them are going for a somewhat similar look. A few neutrals with some fun added color to keep the interest.

Giorgio-Armani-001I’ve always been a huge fan of neutrals, therefor I have no qualms about it being in palettes as I find them more wearable and fool-proof for those that don’t wear eye shadow on a regular basis (ahem, me.). Then I can take a dip into the brighter colors when I feel like stepping out of my eyeshadow-comfort-zone.

I was talking with Arianne from Glitter Geek about the Giorgio Armani Maestro foundation, since I’m on the hunt for another new one. Aren’t we always searching for the next best thing? I still love my Bobbi Brown one, but at the same time I’m looking out for another great one to use. Just in case that one gets discontinued like my old Laura Mercier one did. Anyway, Arianne was saying that it’s very velvety and blends instantly. Sephora at the Eaton Centre has it, so I’ll try a little sample of it next time I’m in to see if I would fork over my money for it.

Giorgio-Armani-foundationGiorgio came out with “Face Fabric” in three new shades. Great packaging. I love either squeeze tube foundation or ones with a pump. The foundation I’m using right now is in a glass jar without a pump. I would appreciate a pump with every foundation especially if it’s considered high end. It bothers me that I almost always pour out too much onto the back of my hand in the mornings when I’m tired and getting ready for my day. At least, I assume it’s a squeeze tube from the look of it….

Giorgio-Armani-blushesThe blush also comes in a nice little squeeze tube, which will most definitely create a nice little glow on your cheeks as opposed to a powder blush. Cream blushes are my favorite types of blushes to wear due to me having dry skin, I want something hydrating on my face, rather than powdery.

Have you ever tried Giorgio Armani products?

My watch collection

my-watch-collectionI admit, I do have a bit of a problem when it comes to buying watches. It’s all justified though, especially since I wear the heck out of all of them in just the run of a week. I like to call it more of a collection than a  problem though.

I’ve been trying to come up with ways to store my watches other than on my dresser all sprawled out. Recently, I have been browsing eBay for watch holders like the one below.

watch-holders

I’ve been debating buying one on the left. But they’re made of velvety material and I feel like having them on display not only takes up a ton of space on top of the dresser but being that it’s velvet, it’s a huge dust collector.

However after searching more into it you can also buy acrylic holders. I don’t love the look of them, which is why I haven’t purchased it yet. What do you guys think? I also hope that one would be enough due to the large amount of watches I have.

My grand collection of Women’s watches I’ve accumulated throughout the years.  my-watchesTop row: Skagen Ceramic Watch which was kindly sent to me for review from The Watch Co., and the gold clunker is my Michael Kors look-a-like that I bought on eBay last summer.
Bottom row: All of my favorite Fossil Stella watches! The brown stainless steel one was sent to me last summer. The other two are made of resin material and I bought those in 2009.

You’ll notice one of my watches are missing. It’s the Fossil Heather watch I received from my friends at Fossil late summer. I ended up giving that one to my Mom when I flew home over Thanksgiving. She loves it and it totally suits her!

I have three other watches I wear too. Talk about a collection hey?

my-older-watchesL-R: Timex sports watch, Nixon leather strap watch, and a coconut watch I got for Christmas this year.

I only wear the timex one if I’m heading out for a run. My Nixon watch brings back so many memories. It’s the first watch I remember purchasing, I got it at a skate shop in 2003 back home in Newfoundland and I wore the heck out of it. The leather strap is almost worn away on the backside.

I plan on doing a full review on the Skagen watch that I received, as well as another blog post on how to style watches. Because certain watches definitely won’t work with certain outfits.

Do you collect anything?

Do you wear a watch on a regular basis?
