Rituals Duo Eyeshadow

I know! I had no idea Rituals made makeup, either!

I love the Rituals philosophy and it’s so simple – happiness can be found in the smallest of things. Their passion is to transform our everyday routines into meaningful rituals.Â Rituals is enriched with pulverised gemstones and pure minerals. That way their makeup is richly pigmented and so mild on your skin. They are an all-natural company who uses organic ingredients (or safe alternatives). They’re not tested on animals.

I was pumped when I received my parcel in the mail from them, thinking I was getting a few body and skin care items to try out. I have two eyeshadow duos but this one is going to be about the #13 (I’ll save the other one, for another post!).Â Unfortunately I have no idea what colours to show you that I received since the back of the eyeshadow says #13, but on their websiteÂ it’s sorted by the colours. This one might be the creamy pink and taupe.

The packaging of the eyeshadows are nice and sleek, not overly heavy but definitely well-made. And want to know something neat? They’re made in Italy! The eyeshadows were super easy to blend and had little to no fall-out. I applied the shadows without a primer underneath and look how pigmented it still was. I even used that little spongey applicator it came with. Awesome.

Out of the two duo eyeshadows I have for review, this one is definitely the favourite one I have. It brings out my blue eyes, using neutrals like that. You can use these eyeshadows wet too, but I haven’t tried since whenever I tend to do that on an eyeshadow palette, the shadows get this weird coating over-top and it’s more difficult to use. If anyone else has tried, let me know!

Nice and soft, and easy to blend out as I mentioned. Definitely a really nice creamy-like powdered eyeshadow and so nice to work with considering I don’t wear eyeshadow regularly.

If you aren’t familiar with Farmacy skincare, let me introduce you!

To be honest, I didn’t find out about this brand on my own. A few months back when Lauren and I were browsing Sephora in Santana Row, she took me to the skincare section and showed me these items! I didn’t end up picking anything out at the time, because I was currently using my favourite products (you know the drill: philosophy hope in a jar, and bobbi brown extra eye repair cream).

A PR palÂ that I’ve worked with in the past started representing Farmacy and allowed me to get familiar with the brand, too. So she sent over the Faramcy Perennial Picks for me to try out.

Farmacy Perennial Picks is a four piece skincare kit that comes with:

New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains (1.4 oz)
Invincible Root Cell Anti-Aging Serum (0.27 oz)
Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm (0.5 oz)
Rise N’ Shine Daily Moisture Lock (0.5 oz)

This set is perfect for anyone who has dry, normal, combination or sensitive skin. The brand is formulated without parabens, sulfates or phthalates nor do they test on animals. All their products are free of formaldehyde and artificial colouring.

Although trivial because we all want to know how the product preforms on the skin, I think the packaging is great, with the wooden screw-top lids and each product is pretty enough to keep out on the bathroom counter tops.

FarmacyÂ Rise N’ Shine Daily Moisture Lock. I have to admit, I am partial to my favourite face cream, but this one is pretty nice too as it adds hydration to my dry skin and makes my skin look radiant.

Farmacy Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm. This is more of a lightweight balm (re: balm = thicker). I’m happy it’sÂ notÂ tooÂ heavy Â feeling, but just enough moisture for my dry skin to soak up during the night, and feeling smooth in the a.m. I love the fresh scent of the night balm, it has a natural clean scent to it which I tend to gravitate towards (I dislike anything vanilla scented, or candy/food smelling!).

Farmacy Invincible Root Cell Anti-Aging Serum. I’m a huge fan of serums, but I seem to never finish them up. I love the way they make my skin feel, and I usually only apply them at night time because I don’t want to layer too much on my face in the morning with my SPF, moisturizer, and makeup. I love to save the pampering of my skin, for my nighttime routine. I haven’t been using these products all that long, so I can’t fully report on how well the serum is doing for my skin. But it’s definitely better than applying none at all!

Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains. This is my first powder exfoliator, and what I mean by that is just what you think it means. Pour the white powder into the palm of your hand, add a little bit of water and it turns into a gentle exfoliating cream. It’s gentle on my skin and doesn’t feel abrasive at all.

bareMinerals Gen Nude lips!

bareMinerals has launched an entire lineup of perfect nude lip colours this summer, called GEN NUDE!

closing-bag Get this, they’ve launched 60 products. Sixty shades of nude, it’s unreal.

I have a couple of products to show you!

Notice the matte buttercream lipglosses packaging has a satin-matte like finish to them so they’re easy to tell apart from the buttercream lipglosses which are in the original bareMinerals packaging (clear/shiny). I love that they changed the packaging like that, to be matte!

lip-pencils I haven’t tried a lip pencil from bareMinerals before. They’re decently sized, and theyÂ glide on easily. I think the colour on pointÂ is perfect for my lips.

bareMinerals GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lipcolour. These glosses are a long-wearing, cream-to-matte liquid lipcolour that has a nice lightweight texture to it, similar to the Buxom Wildly Whipped Liquid Lipsticks I reviewed in May. While they have the typical bareMinerals vanilla scent to it, it’s not overpowering. It doesn’t feel uncomfortable on the lips and these lipcolours are formulated with moisturizing ingredients to counteract any dryness that may have otherwise occurred. I can’t stand a dry-lip! These glide on smoothly and you’ll definitely find a perfect nude shade for your skintone, considering the amount of colours and formulas they came out with!

bareMinerals GEN NUDE Radiant Lipstick. Easy to wear, easy to apply without a mirror. Goes on like a creamy balm and feels really moisturising on the lips. Again, this too comes in 20 flattering shades. Have fun in your huge playground of bareMinerals lip colours!

bareMinerals GEN NUDE Buttercream Lipgloss.Â If you’re familiar with Buxom (sister-company to bareMinerals) lipglosses, you’ll know they tingle (and they’re one of the glosses that I’ve finished multiple times, especially in the colour Katie). The bareMinerals ones do not have that minty smell nor a tingling sensation so I know a lot of people were concerned about that. The buttercream glosses have more of a sweet cookie scent to it (at least that’s what I think it smells like!). Although the colour I received in fancy has a bit of shine in the gloss tube, it doesn’t feel gritty at all nor can I notice any sparkle on the lips â€” which is a good thing!

bareMinerals GEN NUDE Under Over Lip Liner. I’m not too advanced with using lip liners and have only tried another brand before this (Dior). So both brands are right up there, and I would expect they perform well on the lip with zero tugging, which is what they did. I was pretty happy with the two colours IÂ got!

bareMinerals Under Over Lip Liner – On PointÂ ($16). This pulled more brown on my lips than I was expecting. I’d imagine it’d be an awesome nude to layer under a lighter brown gloss to create that 90’s look.

bareMinerals Under Over Lip Liner – Borderline ($16). Once I lined my lips I couldn’t tell that I was applying it. It’s the exact same colour as my outer lipline, once filled in entirely, it was a bit lighter. This is SO pretty!
