Too Faced La Matte + La Crème lipsticks

Too Faced La Creme & La Matte lipsticksToo Faced recently launched a few new shades from their La Matte + La Crème lipstick collections at the end of February. And ooo boy, what a perfect time to try out their lipsticks for the first time!

TooFacedThe Too Faced La Crème lipsticks go on like a creamy lipbalm consistency. Although much more pigmented than a balm, the colour payoff is excellent with a nice semi-gloss finish to the lips. I might have to pick up a couple of lighter shades, as I don’t necessarily wear the dark shades on an everyday basis.

I’m equally pleased with the Too Faced La Matte colours I received to review, as I thought they would tug more on my lips, considering it’s a matte formulation. However, it went on the exact same way as La Crème, except drying to a matte finish. The matte shades are beautiful and have an intense colour payoff with one swipe from the bullet. Both the matte and creme lipsticks have a white lotus flower extract in it, which I assume gives off the most faintest of scents, but it’s a nice delicate smell that you really have to look for (it’s not an intense smell).

Although, I’ve only worn these for a few days, I can attest that both the La Matte, and the La Crème formulas, do not have the longest staying power on the lips. Consider bringing them along with you throughout the day to touch up after eating/drinking.

Alright, onto the swatches!

Too-Faced-La-CremeFirst up, La Crème lipsticks.

9012Ohhh9021Ohhh: described as a candy apple red.

Berry-NaughtyBerry Naughty: a berry wine shade. I would describe it to be more plum. This is my favourite one!

UrslaUrsla: Similar to Berry Naughty, with more of a deeper purple tone and a golden shimmer throughout.

Next up are the La Matte shades. Too-Faced-La-Matte

When-In-DoubtWhen In Doubt: A matte cool beige. LOVE this one!

BacheloretteBachelorette: A perfectly bright watermelon pink for summer!

The-New-BlackThe New Black: Get it? Orange is the new black? Ha! Love the name.

Rebel-HeartRebel Heart: A cool toned matte red.

I realized that La Creme’s 9021Ohhh, looked similar to the La Matte Rebel Heart colour, so I decided to swatch them side-by-side. Check them out! One is just a matte version of the other, basically. Do you see the similarities? Too-Faced-dupesLeft: La Creme 9021Ohhh
Right: La Matte Rebel Heart

All the colours swatched on my arm. Too-Faced-Lipsticks

Dior Airflash Foundation

Dior Airflash spray foundationWhen I first got the Dior Airflash foundation, I didn’t know to efficiently get the foundation on my face. Considering it is a spray foundation, I didn’t want to exactly go to town and spray it all over my face, like I would a hairspray all over my hair. I mean, I suppose you could go about it that way, but I feel like it’d show up in my dark hair, my eyebrows, and lashes.

Dior-brush-with-AirflashSo I opted for spraying the product in the cap, dipping my Dior Fluid Foundation brush, giving it a bit of a swirl to pick up the product, and applying it on my face that way. It’s the only way I came up with, and it’s been working wonders with little mess/clean up.

DiorSkin-AirflashMonths I’ve been using this! You can kind of tell by the usage on the spray nozzle. I think I received it from Dior during the Fall, if not earlier than that. We all love before/after’s when it comes to foundation reviews, especially so you the reader can tell how much coverage it has and see it all for yourself.

Before and After: Using the shade 300 medium beige (I also have the shade 200 light beige, but I use that when I’m paler).Dior-Airflash-beforeafter

It still looks natural, right? I have to say, Airflash is like the goldilocks of foundations, you get the perfect amount of coverage with the perfect amount of semi-matte/natural looking finish, I would assume that is the exact thing that most people are looking for, with foundation. I never need much product to cover my entire face, and if you notice — the Airflash can itself carries 2.3oz of product, so you get more for your buck.

I’m not sure if you can tell what type of coverage or effect it has on the skin. It’s a lightweight formula since it’s so airy to apply, but it has a medium and buildable to a high coverage. As a reminder, I have dehydrated skin and prefer to have a medium coverage that has a glowy application to any foundation. What do you think? There’s a few different brands out there now that creates a spray foundation. Have you tried Dior’s, or any other brand? I’m interested in hearing your thoughts.

Face brushes by Dior

Dior makeup brushes

Dior-faceHere’s something I haven’t spoken about with you guys on my blog before, Dior makeup brushes! I’ve had these two Dior brushes for months, and I’ve been using them — just not speaking about them. Guess now I should share the love of them on my blog, and let you know what I think of them. Spoiler alert, they have stuck around my makeup bag ever since!

Dior-foundationDior Fluid Foundation brush is a brush I prefer to use when I am wanting a higher coverage, flawless face due to it being so dense. The fluid foundation brush mimics synthetic fibers, with the softness of natural fibers. It’s a layered and tapered brush, so it applied foundation easily but quickly too. The brush is small enough to fit underneath the eye to blend in your concealer, and perfect to glide softly around the nose, making sure you don’t get that caked-on-foundation look around that part of your face. ‘Cause sometimes, that happens! But with this brush, it won’t. I feel like I look totally natural when wearing makeup, using this brush. Plus, I love how slim/tiny it is.

Dior Kabuki brushDior Kabuki Brush no. 17 has been the brush I’ve been reaching for the past few weeks to apply a quick bronzed and chiselled look to my face, without having to blend it out after. Hashtag I use this when I feel lazy. This does it all. It’s not the softest makeup brush I own, but it’s compact enough to fit into my mini makeup bag, does an excellent job of getting the job done quickly, and picks up the perfect amount of product. To apply my bronzer, I lightly dip the tip of the brush head into the bronzer, and apply my bronzer using circular motions allllllll over my forehead, under my cheek bones, a touch down the bridge of my nose, and finally finish off with a dab of bronzer under the chin #EraseTheDoubleChin.

Dior-brushesDo you have any Dior face brushes? What one’s do you use? If not, what is your favourite brand of makeup brush?
