Sephora VIB haul

My Sephora online order finally came in. I went shopping in the store but ended up wanting to buy a big ol’ size bottle of the Purity cleanser. I heard that it came with a pump if you got the largest one. But mine didn’t end up shipping with one. So maybe they don’t do it anymore?

I had just gotten back from my girls weekend down in the USA and the next few days later, Sephora e-mails us VIB card-holders telling them we get 20% off anything and everything. Well goodie. I saved some dollars down in the states buying a few things. But I could save a lot more buying even MORE stuff from the sale. So that’s exactly what I did.Sephora-VIB-sale

I had nothing on my list to buy. But I certainly went out and got a lot of things for something I didn’t really need. Oops?

Alfie kinda likes Sephora too.

Weekend Recap

Hope everyone had a decent weekend! What did you all do?

I’ve been keeping comfortable with many hot teas, Netflix on my Nexus 7 (from Staples!) curled up in bed. Reading blogs and watching movies in bed all day? I could do that. Wait. I did. All weekend long. Oof! nexus7-on-my-bed

It’s been a long weekend over here for me. The Guy is finally back in town, and we are now sick together. I’m on the mend, he’s just now getting it.

On Thursday I stayed home because I coughed up a lung or two the night before. Friday I had to go into work to get some more stuff done before our big annual general meeting coming up in a few days. It’s like organizing a wedding (like I’d know all about that lol). And I’m doing it all on my own. I was in for about half the day, then my boss sent me home because I was probably spreading germs everywhere. So it was an extra extra long weekend for me.

I bailed on heading to Toronto yesterday, to meet up with Leanne, because I didn’t want to be hacking all day long and not enjoy the day. Plus I had to last minute cancel on a fun Make Up For Ever event. I really hate it when people cancel on me, so I hated doing so. But my Mom was right, when I talked to her earlier this weekend. I needed to stay in and get rid of this head cold, chest cold. Whatever it is.

Since I was feeling pretty grubby after a rough week (of coughing and holding in my ribs) I decided to fancy my toes up a little bit. Especially because it’s been longer than I’d like to admit since I had a pedicure last. Had an appointment for Friday, but had to call and cancel that too. touch-of-twinkle-china-glaze

Hair Care: What You Need To Know

What works for my type of hair are lightweight products that gives my hair body and substance. Otherwise if I just shampoo and blow dry, my roots get very limp. Here are my go-to products when I style my hair.

Big-Sexy-Hair-volumizing-gelBig Sexy Hair Volumizing  GelThis is a light weight gel that is to be used on wet hair yet it  doesn’t weigh down my hair. In fact it makes it have some sort of sustenance. It’s kinda crazy. I first got this in my October ipsy box. I’ve been using it all month long and I’m not even half way through the sample. A little goes along way for my hair type (fine and thin).

its-a-10-miracle-leave-inIt’s a 10 miracle leave-in conditioner
Not only does this nourish your hair, but it creates a smooth frizz-free finish and acts as a heat protectant before you heat style your hair.

Aveda ShampureAveda shampoo/conditioner
I always stand by anything by Aveda. I’ve been using their products for over 10 years and while I don’t buy their products all the time, I always end up going back to them. They nourish my hair like no other and is most definitely my holy grail of shampoos and conditioners.

Kerastase-ElixirKérastase Elixir Ultime
I use this in either damp or dry hair. It boosts shine and adds an amazing scent too. I reviewed the Kérastase Elixir Ultime last year and I’m still on the same bottle. A little truly goes a long way with this product. This product creates shine while hydrating your hair. It also tames those annoying flyaways. This elixir is silicone free so it feels weightless on the hair, which is one of the top contenders in a product that I look for, as I do have pretty fine limp hair. I can say for certain that the Kérastase Elixir feels much better on my hair than the Macadamia Nut serum, which weighed my hair down.

Batiste-dry-shampooBatiste Dry shampoo
I’ve been trying out this Batiste Dry Shampoo spray that was sent to me from Farley Co. Batiste has been hyped up about and is a huge seller amongst dry shampoos. It’s a nice product if you get the one specifically for your hair colour. I received the original spray which comes out white. Not exactly the best for brunettes – it took forever to blend the white/grey cast into my hair to look somewhat normal. There are different variations and colours out now suitable for a darker hair shades too. I would recommend this product because a little went a long way and it immediately soaked up any oily residue I had on my hair with one or two sprays. However until I can get my hands on the spray for brunettes I’ll stick to my Principessa powder dry shampoo.

Do you use a styling products on your hair?
