Guys… I get to review POPCORN!!!

My dreams have all come true, and I can now die happy. You guys, I get to review POPCORN!

Are you freaking kidding me? I’m not sure how I lucked into this little number, but I got a pretty sweet gig reviewing some Orville Redenbacher popcorn.

I’m sure many, many of you already know this about me. But when my Boyf’s traveling with work and is away for a few nights, I actually dive right into popcorn and eat it for supper. Not the most healthy meal by any means. But some days I really don’t feel like cooking and I take great advantage of not doing so when I’m home alone. I may have even overdosed on popcorn, and gotten stomach aches from eating too much of it. But I will always go back to you, Mr. Orville Redenbacher!

I’d show you my candy stash drawer at work, but sometimes my Boyfriend reads my blog and I’d be ashamed to show it ;)

Already, one bag of popcorn is missing. I couldn’t even take a photograph of loot before diving in. 4 bags of popcorn!

  • White Cheddar with Chipotle (already in my stomach)
  • White Cheddar
  • Sweet & Salty
  • Dill Pickle

I was given the choice to choose between four different palettes. Tangy, Rich, Sweet, or Zesty and went with the latter.

The Orville Redenbacher popcorn came in a huge tote bag. The canvas tote was used for our beach towels and we brought along the “missing” popcorn (White Cheddar with Chipotle) on our Canada Day trip to the beach last weekend. Note to self, do not bring your blackberry or any other device you wish to get ruined, on the beach. Boyf’s Ohio State Wallet got soaked lol. How do these things happen?!

The theme was all red, by the looks of it, hey? Check out the items I got!

  • Orville Redenbacher bags to share with friends
  • Red napkins
  • Just Call Me Orville book
  • Silly putty
  • Popcorn bowl (not shown, it was getting washed after much popcorn usage)
  • EOS Lip Balm
  • Etch-A-Sketch
  • Notepads
  • Book pen

My Boyfriend is  quite conscious of what he puts into his body and for the most part we eat fairly healthy at home. He had a bit of a concern that the popcorn had a lot of oil content in it. But he compared it to the equivalent of eating popcorn at the movie theaters (we always go back for seconds by the way). So it’s all okay in moderation right? I’ll try my best not to devour a bag per week. I need to hide them from myself.

What food are you absolutely obsessed with?

What’s on your list?

What’s on your grocery list for the week?

I usually procrastinate getting groceries and have to end up stopping into the supermarket immediately after I finish a CrossFit WOD. Sweaty mess. Slow walking due to sore muscles = lots of time to browse. So this is what one of my shopping trips usually looks like:

I just noticed there is a lot of greenery in the picture.

Up close:

Spring mix salad kit // Croutons // Asparagus // Cauliflower // Broccoli // Bananas // Red peppers // Boneless Skinless Chicken breasts // Cherry tomatoes // Snap peas (or whatever they’re called – the sweet yummy ones) //  Cucumbers // Alfalfa sprouts // Pine Nuts // Mushrooms // Carrots // Milk (not shown) // Delicio chicken pizza (not shown).

I usually pick up more fruits and veggies but I had enough in the fridge already (grapes, watermelon, & berries). I picked up alfalfa sprouts for the very first time. I first had them in my sandwich when I went with Stephanie to Thrive the other weekend. I liked them, and apparently they’re better for you than lettuce. Crazy. I could barely taste them in my salad and wrap. I may start taking photos on the stereo stand rather than the ugly dated stove top next time.

Dig in!

What are on your must have list for your grocery shopping trip?

Rubbermaid LunchBlox

One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me.

Whether you want to bring these Rubbermaid LunchBloxes with you to work, or save them for picnic’s with your family, you can’t help but notice the bright fun look of the Rubbermaid’s new containers. They are perfectly portioned to keep everything in its place. They stack vertically so they’re quite space efficient, and also feature a snap-in Blue Iceâ„¢ so it keeps your food chilly. No more soggy sandwiches or wilted lettuce for lunch! Wilted lettuce is a pain in my butt let me tell you.

It’s resorting me back to pre-school with those fun building blocks we played with. Snap the rubbermaid containers all together and you’ve got some lunch for yourself.

I can only assume that students would benefit the best from the Rubbermaid LunchBlox containers, as most people who have jobs or careers most likely have a fridge in their office. Where as students need to keep their food in their lockers or carry them around all day.

Some feed of food I got! Inside the hugh-jazz salad was chicken, red and orange bell peppers, fresh mushrooms, cucumber, and matchstick carrots. On the side I had snow peas.

Little container for your salad dressing, and toppings.

These containers are so much more environmentally friendly than using little baggies like ziplocks. Also, sure I have other Rubbermaid containers that I use to bring to work with me, but they don’t have these snap on leg0-like building. It’s kinda fun to stack them and have them stay in place. These do fit in our lunch bags, since the unique design is so compact.

I have another giveaway for you guys. Rubbermaid would like to offer my readers two samples each of the Salad kit and Sandwich kit (total value $50) for a prize! They will ship the prize package directly to the contest winner after the contest closes. Please note that the contest is available to Canadian residents only.
