Birthday presents for the year, done!

After stumbling upon Jenn’s website and found a blog entry on an internet company located in the States that personalizes gifts for kids, I decided to create my own for my nephews in Ireland. Kelan (to the left) will be 3 in July, and Ruairi will be 2 in December. I’m thinking of just getting the gifts primarily for Kelan as he’s at the age now where he probably will be starting to spell his name — sooner or later right? Plus he’s a boy, and likes trucks at the moment, hence the fire truck below. They’re a bit expensive to ship to Canada ($14.95 for Standard to Canada), ugh but the present is well worth it. Hopefully it will be really appreciated and kept, for a long time to come.

So please ignore the watermarks on the photos, but this is what I’ve picked out for  my little buddy, Keely-koo! I can’t wait for his birthday! I’m not going to order these yet as I’m still in this No Buy Month (gosh, March seems soo long when you can’t spend anything), but his birthday isn’t until July and I’ll have plenty of time to mail it over to him.

Above is a Fire truck place mat, customized with his name … AND I got to choose any city for the Fire Dept. location. The second, which is my absolute favorite thing in the world right now is the customized book.

Oh I don’t think I’ve been this giddy in such a long time. I love getting “awesome” gifts for my guys. I hope they have as much fun with it, as I have just browsing the website.  I’m definitely ranked up there as the (only) favorite Aunt. haha.

My reward

I will be making a trip to my sweet little Asian lady who has an aesthetic salon at her house, if I am successful with this No Buy Month. Way to go huh? Try and not spend money for a whole 31 days and then days after it’s over go out and spend a fifty. I’ve made my appointment for Saturday morning, April 4 for the following, regardless of the pointless No Buy Month:

Eyebrow Wax: $5 (!!!)
Pedicure:
$20
Powder Gel Nails:
$25

Not a bad deal, plus she’s super anal at getting everything done absolutely perfect, so there is never any flaws when she does your eyebrows/pedi’s. I haven’t had a pedi since I went home for Christmas, and I only removed the polish just a few days ago, mainly because it looked weird. But there wasn’t ONE chip in the polish. Eyebrows on the other hand are a bit unruly, and I’m plucking them, and flinching each time I do it because I hate causing myself pain trying to get every single hair. I’d rather just someone else RIP IF OFF in one go. But she also plucks some strays after she’s done. I’ve never actually had anything done by her besides the eyebrow wax and pedi. So I’ll be excited to see how my nails come out. As you can see, I’m super stoked about this haha.

I’ll be put to the test next Monday. I’ll be going over to the next city to get my retainer adjusted for some reason (usually every three months or so now). After my appointments I usually go out with my Mom’s cousin, and her mother for some dinner. But this time, I’m asking my Mom’s cousin to meet me at the mall, ’cause I want to check out the new Bath & Body Works store, as I’ve nevvvvvver been inside one before. My room mate has some amazing smelling stuff on, always … and most of the things she’s smells like (lol) is from BBW! Oh, tempting tempting, to break this rule of mine.

I may have a confession…

Technically, I didn’t break the rules. So, this No Buy Month that I’m doing? I smguess you could say I almost broke the rules. But didn’t! Judge for yourself. I went to a movie on Saturday night (that’s us, before the movie hee hee). Used my scene points to get free popcorn/pop. I returned some MAC makeup I bought a few weeks ago (I plan on writing a MAC Makeup review this week), and used my return money to purchase tickets for Boyfriend and I to see Watchmen. Boyfriend loved it. Me? Meh, not so much. It was entertaining and completely packed theatre.

Unknowingly to me, when we went on Friday it was opening night. The line-up went all down the hallway, outside, and wrapped around the building.  So many nerdles (nerds lol) around too. We were the last people in line, an hour before the movie. When we got seats, we decided they sucked and asked if we could exchange our tickets for Saturday. Score. We went two hours before the movie this time, and was 6th in line — and got our sweet spot seats. The movie was three hours long, again like I said: entertaining, but not my favourite kind of movie to watch. Next, I want to see He’s Just Not That Into You. But Boyfriend won’t see it, room mate already saw it. So I asked my Mom to burn it for me and send it up with my ‘care package’ she’s putting together for me, for Easter. Awwww….

Anyway. That’s my confession for the day.
