Aunt Nancy

ootd-july16I named this post Aunt Nancy mainly because it was my nephew’s 3rd birthday when I was wearing it.

Surprise surprise, my outfit is basically all from the store Dynamite. Jeesh! I had no idea I have so many things from this one store in my closet! Guess it’s my favorite g0–to place for work attire.

The top I’m wearing doesn’t get much wear out of it as my purple one does. I bought the purple ruffle top first and ended up absolutely in love with it (meaning wearing it maybe more than once a week!) so I bought the yellow, and white one! Gotta say, it’s pretty difficult to pair the white one with a pair of trousers or shorts because I’d end up looking like a waitress/server! So that barely gets any use. Hmpf.orange

Wow. I really need a hair cut. Colonix? Not so much needed. Fret not, I booked a hair appointment for July 31!~ Though it got me thinking, I want to go back to my orange/yellow/black/blonde hair days. See what I mean? It looked good, and I miss it!

Top: Dynamite [circa May 2009!]
Cardigan: Smart Set [bought a long time ago but rarely worn because I used to hate the color]
Capri’s: Dynamite maybe $35? [purchased two summers ago when I started working here]
Shoes: Brand name: Seychelle’s. Purchased in spring 2007 from Browns online store in Toronto, and have worn the heck out of them. I mean, look at the toes on them! What a disgrace :) I have yet to make another purchase from Browns. Guess it was a one time only thing. I really don’t like anything they have listed and even if I do like it, it’s like three hundred bucks for a pair of flip flops!

And now for some close ups! First, the capri/bermuda/shorts. Probably not the most flattering photo known to mankind, but what can you do. It was taken swiftly and with my blackberry. So there ya have it. Some minature triangle design with a black satin sash belt to boot. Lovely.

Shoes? I really shouldn’t be wearing these to work. They’re so worn out. They’re the most comfortable soft leather flats available. Decided I needed a backup second pair and ended up contacting the designer of Seychelle’s and asking if they had any in my size in Canada or the US. Unfotunately, I was a few months too late as they stopped making the shoe. Wah wah!

Whorkit

july15Ya. I know it’s Saturday and I’m totally blogging about what I was wearing to work on Wednesday. It’s okay, I’m going to start relaxing packing for another one of Boyfriend’s triathlons tomorrow morning just as I finish this post right up! I should blog what I’m wearing, today instead! Whatevs. I think later I’m going to end up looking at more cars. Surprised? Shouldn’t be.

Top: Abercrombie (circa 2007/2008?)
Capris: Mexx purchased in 2007. The most versatile capri’s I’ve ever worn/purchased. These are made of thicker material and are so immune to looking dirty or stained like a white pant/short would. These are amaaazing.
Brown Flats: From ALDO shoe store and a half size too big, but they didn’t have my shoe size so I bought inserts. They’re so comfy, and they look much better with age.

I have a little story about the top I’m wearing. I used to go online to abercrombie’s website and purchase things when they were on clearance since I knew my size and everything. At one point I was getting a bit worried with my online order because it didn’t have a tracking number so after 15 business days were up, I called their toll free number and asked where my package was. Turned out that the sweater and the boxers (for my boyf) that I ordered were “lost in the mail”. I was automatically sent a new package with my purchases. Both packages ended up coming to me in the mail within two business days. I had a double order.  I ended going into Toronto because there’s no limit as to when you can return things there. So, I decided to return one of the two sweaters (boyfriend loves the Abercrombie boxers so he kept his) and I ended up getting this top I’m wearing!

Score.

Work wear + a bit of shopping

Last night, let me tell you guys — I totally passed out at 7pm and didn’t wake up until 7:30am the next morning. Now tell me that isn’t a long slumber? I don’t even have a sleep number bed to blame it all on. I guess I was seriously somewhat exhausted? From what? I have no idea! I ended up doing a bit of shopping for my Mom’s birthday right after work. But I won’t be posting any photos of what I bought her because she occasionally reads this blog. Hi Momma!! But what I will show you are some crazy deals I got at Aeropostale. I rarely head into that store because I feel super old when I’m there, with all the 10 year old girls trying on stuff. But I secretly love the clothes there! So, I started browsing and found $5.99 flip flops. They were orignially $29.99. I picked up two pairs, aren’t they adorbs? Tell me they’re adorable!! I can’t wait for the weekend to wear them. Or maybe I can wear them to work? Hmm…I think I’m definitely going to go to this store more often because their sales prices are just insanely good.

ootdWork Attire post #2 … coming right up! (#1 can be viewed here, or just view all upcoming outfit posts under the Fashion category.)

I had to crop my face out in this one — I was making a sour face for no reason. Maybe the concentration of holding the blackberry steady so it wouldn’t blur my snapshot. You get the jist anyway. This was taken in the back room at work. Hee hee, sneaky. I have a white cardigan that goes over the top too, especially in an office environment when the A/C is cranked. Don’t forget to enlarge the image if you want to see a bigger photo.

Top: Purchased years ago (2006 for my “going away party” & moving from Newfoundland to Ontario) at Dynamite clothing store. It was probably $25 knowing that store.
Capris: these are from Jacob (price unknown/forgotten), and I bought them when I got hired at the Financial Institution in spring/summer 2007.
Shoes: Bought at Reitman’s in April/May–ish and are totally falling apart (mainly because I wore them out in the rain a few times. Oops). They were on clearance for $24.
White Cardigan [not pictured]: Purchased from Zara (in Toronto) last summer. $12!!!

Well isn’t that a sight? I had no idea my torso looked so short and stumpy in this top.  Perhaps these black capri’s aren’t the best match for this top.  ALSO…My chiropractor’s receptionist (who happens to be from Newfoundland too) really hates my shoes that I’m wearing in this photo. She says they’re too wide for my feet. I don’t care though, they’re pretty comfy, and cheap — of course, they’re falling apart now since I sit in my chair with my shoes on facing the floor. So my right ‘toe’ on every shoe is basically worn out. Wow I really need to purchase some new things. I hadn’t realized my clothes seemed so … old. I promise, I do shop! :)

I have a serious back log of “work attire” outfits that I have yet to post! How exciting. Stay tuned for the next couple of days!
