Babysitting this summer?

Anyone that had a babysitting job during the summer, knows how much it takes to entertain kids — especially if it’s a full time position.

I know I’ve had my fair share of babysitting my cousins kids throughout the years and we’ve done all sorts of crafty things together. Well, here’s another great idea to bring along to babysit young girls. I got this Basic Nail Art Stamping Set by Konad from Nail Polish Canada. At first I thought it was a little juvenile for my liking, but once I started playing with it I thought it was nice and subtle. Especially doing a little design on the popular ring finger that everyone has been sporting lately.

The Konad Basic Kit allows you to easily and quickly stamp funky, pre-designed images onto your nails. This kit comes with a silver image plate, a mini nail polish, as well as the stamp and scraper. Instructions are super easy to follow.

Here are a few designs I played with on my nails:

P.S. I need a mani badly. I’m not the best at doing my own nails ;)

The kit retails for $17.00 CDN and available on the Nail Polish Canada website! Plus if you spend over $25 or more, you qualify for free shipping. Otherwise it’s five bucks — not bad!

Annabelle launches BB products

Most of you already know I film YouTube videos. I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing with them, and I’m not entirely comfortable on camera yet (even after a year!) – but I’ve ended up doing a Makeup Swap once with my American friend Katie. I sent her some Annabelle products along with some other fun goodies that she couldn’t get down in the States. Katie also sent me some products that weren’t available to us Canadians. Right now I’m completely in love with my Sonia Kashuk hidden concealer palette that you can buy at Target. I need another, soon!

Well, Annabelle cosmetics is coming out with some new products that should launch this July-August. Annabelle have recently renewed themselves with a first campaign with Marie-Mai. She looks familiar, but I’m still not sure who she is. Anyway, some of the items that will be launched in the next few weeks should be fun to play around with.

If you didn’t already know Marcelle & Annabelle are the same company, so it’s only appropriate that Annabelle now come out with a BB cream as well. Marcelle, is the number 1 selling BB cream right now in drug stores. Plus – it’s only of the better one’s that I’ve used. See my review on Marcelle BB cream here and here.

Love the black packaging. Anything with clean packaging usually sells me, quickly.

Annabelle’s BB cream will be SPF 15. Basically a BB cream is a few different products in one. First, it works as a moisturizer, a sun screen, it brightens your skin, primes and hydrates, providing coverage to your skin as well! I do not have any issues with oil on my face, but this one will have shine control.

BB Compact Makeup: This product will be lightweight and feel very satiny-smooth on your face. It is a powder foundation and it will give your skin radiance, complete with a flawless finish. You can use the double-sided sponge to gain light or moderate covers to your face.

BB Skin Perfect Corrector I would probably use a corrector like this for imperfections on my face, such as dark circles or any pigmentation spots.

BB Skin Retouch Crayon This is actually a double-ended crayon type of product. I’d use it as an eyebrow highlighter, down the nose or on the cheek bones. But this claims to instantly erase fine lines (which I have a hard time believing). I can see it refreshing your eyes and making you seem more awake if you put it in the “tear duct” area of your eyes. Possibly an essential for the party-goer for the morning after?

Think you’ll be picking up any of these items from the new Annabell collection?

Labeling everything in the house

I may have gotten carried away this past weekend labeling everything there was to label. Gotta say, I’m feeling pretty organized as of late. Truthfully though, I’ve fallen off the organizational wagon.

For the past few months I’ve been pretty slack at keeping our home organized. Clean laundry has been piling up on the couches, junk mail left in the porch ready to be shredded, and tons of Tupperware strewn all over the cabinet underneath the sink.

It was time to get into beast mode. Pump up the music and get organized.

I’m not the most organized organizer….

I received the DYMO® LabelManager® 160 handheld label maker and literally went to town with it. Making labels to keep things organized is so fun and super easy, I can see how it could get out of hand if given to a child. Or a Nancy ;)

First I had to assemble the label maker. Easy peasy. It takes a lot of batteries.

So far so good!I have to say, I was even tempted to label Alfie’s food bowls.  In all seriousness this is what I ended up using the LabelManager for:

Labeling things in our pantry.

I purchased these small salad dressing cups to label. Perfect size for spices! You can get them at the dollar store.

A little trial and error. I didn’t realize at first that I could do different font sizes. I laughed when I first stuck this huge LEMON PEPPER on my tiny containers. You can also include symbols, bold, underline or italicize your fonts. It’s definitely a handy little device as I don’t need to keep my spices in the plastic baggies anymore. I’ve decided to keep the bulk spices in the containers I recently purchased. It’s a pitiful amount to start off with, but it’s just that. A starter spice kit for just the two of us.

One giveaway ends, and another begins. Aren’t you folks just lucky!?

One of you lucky readers will be also eligible to win a DYMO® LabelManager® 160. In addition you will receive the batteries you need to power the device and an additional label cartridge, bringing the total value of the package to $50. Please note that the contest is available to Canadian residents only.

Contest ends Saturday night at midnight. Get crack-a-lackin’!
