Not so chronic complainer

Monday morning before work, I had my chiropractor appointment for my regular bi–weekly adjustment. I finally had my first complaint with pain.

As an avid soccer player, and a quite petite build for it, I get beaten down fairly easy. This doesn’t mean that I fall all over the place when I’m running past the defenders. It simply means that I probably have been going a bit hard the last few weeks as we’re now in the play–off’s and it’s a round robin type thing rather than the latter as we busted our asses off to stay in first place the whole season.

I ended up playing Thursday night at 6:30 (finally an early game) and the past two weeks I’ve been taking it easy on my already hurting right ankle (Okay, not really the ankle — It’s like a tendon where my shin meets my foot). He suggested that I do not put it in an ankle brace, or wrap it. Just continue to stretch it and ice it after games if I do hurt it again. I’m not  even really sure how this ankle pain all started. The two indoor leagues that I play on are two completely different surfaces and sizes. I remember it hurting when I was playing a really tough game and a bunch of times I ended up colliding with a player on the other team, with the ball in between both of our feet. You know how that can hurt! Soccer is really a rough sport, I gotta say. I’ve taken down a few players myself as shocking as that may seem. I also got my first bloody nose (in my life) during the 2008 outdoor season. It was a funny moment to be honest. At first I was like OHH F NO, and got scared and ran off the field. Though, it didn’t hurt, I just remember getting out my blackberry and tiling my head back and typing as fast as I could to my boyfriend telling him all about it, as exciting as that may have seemed. First bloody noses are “coooool” lol. Thankfully, it didn’t bleed for THAT long and I got back on the field quickly.

I’ll get to really rest it for about 5 or 6 weeks when these two indoor leagues end in April, so I can be all ready to go, when the time comes in late May to start our outdoor season.

Tomorrow we’ve got an early game as well: 6PM. Well, I’m off to do my taxes on a Saturday afternoon.

Later all!

Mundane Sunday

I don’t normally post some of my “work” up here on my public website. But I thought I’d show you  a little something I did last night. Yea, on a Saturday night. How fun are we?  (While BF was napping, for a longgg time hehe). Though it’s not really work. Just wasting time around in Photoshop, for an estimated five minutes, tops. My white shirt in the edited photo looks like I’m wearing some satin/silky top. Fail. Eventually we watched a movie I’ve never heard of Lucky number SLeven. We rented a blue ray last night courtesy of Rogers Video … BF got a free movie rental for being such a “great rogers customer” or some crap like that. Anyway, regardless of Rotten Tomatoes giving it a mere 51%, it actually wasn’t a bad movie. Unlike other movies, when we watch it on BF’s projector and amazing comfy couch, I usually fall asleep within fifteen minutes tops. I assume it’s because it’s a lot more cozier than sitting in the seats at the theater. I didn’t even nap yesterday! Weekends are for napping. Shame on me.

Hmm.

Soccer is canceled tonight, we found this out on Thursday (even though it’s written on our schedule, I guess nobody really reviews the schedule until last minute then realizes we don’t have a game, so we all send out a mass e–mail telling our players lol). I’m assuming it’s because of the gotdang Superbowl, that nobody up here really even cares about. But, do what ya gotta do I suppose. Hopefully we’ll be able to make up for it after all of our other games have been played. Signing up for outdoor this week. It’ll be a huge change as I’m use to now playing twice a week, where as in outdoor it’s only 1 game per week, and rarely I go to practice because I feel like we don’t do much there whatsoever. I’m going to get an ass whooping for sure (as is everyone I assume) getting out on the grass for the first time in April/May (whenever the season starts). The length of the field will be soooo huge, and the nets… oh gosh, the goals we’ll all think we’ll get, because of the size of the net! haha!

I feel like going to the mall today to spend my $50 generic gift certificate for the whole entire mall. I have no idea what I want to buy, but I want to spend it wisely and get as much as I can, out of the fifty bucks. Oh what fun. I need socks.

All in all, this weekend was pretty restfull for me, considering… (let’s not get into details, shall we). So? What did you all do this weekend?

Last soccer game of oh eight

WHAT A SNOW STORM OUT THERE! I’m glad I decided to wake up ten minutes earlier this morning. Apparently they’re calling for 30cm now, as opposed to the previous estimate of 15–20cm. Le sigh. I hope it’ll all settle before tomorrow morning since I’m bussin’ it out to get my pedi and brow wax before I head home!

Last night was our last indoor soccer game of 2008. We headed out to a little shady pub after and had a few drinks. I think last night was the only time I didn’t score a goal. Impressive hey? A team mate made up for that though, with a nice hat trick, and ended up winning the game for us 3—1. I’ll miss a game in January because the season starts back up again, but I’ll still be in Newfie land partyin’ it up.

It was a tough game, I almost wish someone brought a camcorder and recorded it. The other team was totally falling all over the place, and we weren’t being pushy or anything, this one girl was clumsy as sin. I think I bruised the bottom of my heel, or where my heel ends (mid–foot) it’s sore as hell but I don’t walk on that part of my foot, so it’s not like it’s sore constantly, only when I step on something by mistake with my bare feet like my laptop wire.

My Boss and I exchanged gifts this morning. She knows me all too well. It’s really great. She loved all the little purse–sized things I gave her (she loves little things like that), and we were all giddy and happy playing Christmas music getting excited over our gifts.

Okay, I’m totally rambling here today, I obviously don’t have anything much important to say, hehe. Oh and YAY, IT’S PAY DAY!
