No stopping me

This afternoon after work, I’m going to try and go on my run with the class. For the first time since I joined the running group I have only missed one class (this past Tuesday). I pulled my groin inside leg at soccer. I hate the g-word. It seems to be getting a little bit better each day, and I don’t want to stop my training since the 5k run is less than a month away and I’d rather not lose any endurance that I have created going 2x a week.

As much as I enjoy soccer, I am debating whether or not it’s necessary. It’s really hard on the body, and whenever I go out onto the field, there’s no holding “legs” back. I love to give it my all and outrun everyone I can, which in turns hurts my ankle and pulls a muscle — all within a year. I don’t want to be doing physio my entire adult life, and I don’t want to keep doing this if I’m going to get hurt all of the time, and I certainly don’t want to be relying on any sort of apidexin.

I don’t enjoy running as much as I love soccer, yet. But I’m hoping once I run a few small races this year, my attitude will change.

Run legs, run!

My endurance is pretty good now that I’ve been running twice a week. Enough to make me not want to come off the field at our first (and second) soccer game. Though, whenever I kick the ball, I always contort myself into weird positions.

Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”

See?

After the first game, the middle of my back was so unbelievably sore. But a good kind of sore. Like I’ve worked out with some heavy weights. It doesn’t hurt, but there’s some new muscles being used. Strange, isn’t it?

I ended up calling my dentist the other morning, because I had a pretty big filling done about 6 weeks ago and noticed that it felt like it’s “leaking”. I was very disappointed lol. I freaking hate going to the dentist. I had an appointment last Wednesday to get it checked out.

He requested that his assistant do some x-rays.Of course he had to mumble something along the lines of  “Worst case scenario, we’d have to do a root canal.”

To calm my nerves while he left me to digest the news, I decided to ignore it because his wife (the secretary) was ever so kind to me telling me NOT to worry, and it was probably nothing, and then take pictures

Ok, that didn’t calm me. So…WHY would he even bring that up if it’s not even an issue yet? Why make me want to vom all over the floor when he gives me that news? I said to him (because I’m so stern in DR’s offices lol) “What? Excuse me? Why would you even say I need that done. That’s crazy!” … he repeated himself “Not to worry. That’s the worst case scenario.” Yeah, not like looking at the glass half full or anything. It’s like he wants to give me something I don’t need. (Like stretchmarks creams!?)

He looked at the x-, sprayed some air on my tooth, and then tapped on it with some plastic instrument. The root of my tooth seemed fine, and my tooth wasn’t bothered much by the air blowing in at it. All I had to do was keep using my sensodyne toothpaste and keep an eye on it. OHHHHH thanks! Thanks for giving me worst case scneario buddy, then telling me absolutely nothing is wrong with my tooth!

I walked out of there happy as a pig in…

How was your Monday?

Bring it on!

One week, there’s no soccer. The next? Two soccer leagues and two games! I love it.

I joined my regular Women’s league after missing out on indoor with them this year, and I’m ready to get back at it! Hopefully with all this going to the gym and training, and running outdoors will get some of my cardio back. Quick! We had our first game on Sunday and I know I could have played the whole game without any subs. All the girls on my team were feeling good too. We must have remembered what it was like last summer (not having a lot of endurance and needing subs). Every one felt wicked.

The other league is a co-ed one I joined last summer. It’s a bit brutal as the guys don’t let up and be nice just because you’re female. Which is awesome. Most times I can keep up with the fast paced guys, but at the same time — they have a bit better footwork than I do and it’s hard to keep up with them. I missed the first game because it was on my Birthday, so I’ll be going again t his week.

I’m ready for the season!
