Sigmax Makeup Brushes

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh my god. I. just. did.

Yes, I made a video for you all. It’s so easy for me to criticize everything that I said and did wrong in the video. But I filmed this about 8 times before I was happy enough with it.

What I meant by never shopping at MAC again was that I would never purchase $60 brushes when I could get the Sigma one’s for a quarter of the price. Know what I meaaan?

In the video I said that the F82 Flat Top Kabuki was $19, but in fact it is much cheaper at a wonderful price of $16. Buy it here!

As for my Chanel foundation? It’s totally going in the garb, or to JuicyTuesday since she’s the exact same shade as me, and I offered to send it to her, lol.

Anyway let’s get to some photos too while I’m on the topic of Sigma brushes.

Adorable little personalized note.

How my brush was packaged.

This secured plastic cap was annoying to take off. I had to get my scissors to it.

Macro shot

Showing how dense the brush is. Wonderful, no?

Now onto my face foundation. Terrible.. terrible.

What a difference two foundations make on one’s face, huh? On the left: Chanel Pro Lumiere. On the right: Laura Mercier Moisturizing Foundation

Gee, which look should I go for today? Death feeling, or a bit of life added to my face? See what I mean? I was swatched by Chanel’s staff twice. I just don’t think the color or finish is all that great. The coverage is fine, but I cannot wait to get rid of this foundation.

All in all, I adore the Sigma HD sigmax brushes. I’m excited to try out more!!

It’s going to be a tough month

It’s going to be a tough month.

  • National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo for short)
  • No Buy Month
  • No pop rule

NaBloPoMo: I love taking the challenge each year of trying to blog every single day for the month of November. It also doesn’t hurt that there are prizes available too. This is my second (hopefully annual?) year in a row doing this challenge. Let’s hope I’m successful!

No Buy Month: I took the initiative and put the credit cards and debit cards away for the month of November to see if I could successfully not buy anything frivolous. I’ve just spent way too much money the past few months from going on vacation at the West Edmonton Mall, and then buying two pairs of boots at Winners and just buying random things here and there. Of course bills can and will be paid, gasoline will be purchased for my car and groceries will still be stocked in our fridge. But buying things like chips, candies and not-so-healthy snacks for work are OUT of the question. Shopping online is way too easy and things are going to get tough and test my patience with this No Buy Month. Eating at McDonalds is also a no-no, well unless someone else buys it for me ;) I have a hair appointment this month. But that’s kind of needed and I’ll be paying for that. I even cheated a little by buying some food at Cora’s at the blogger meet up. Whoops…

Maybe I’ll put my Starbucks gift card to use that Kelly (yes you Kel, I only know one!) sweetly mailed me for my Birthday months ago. Mmm. Free white chocolate mochas.

I did a No Buy Month over a year ago in March 2009. Quote from me in February 2009: “You know, the whole point of doing this is to save money and see how much you’ll end up with towards the end of the month. But what’s the fun in that? I always try to find a reward, and treat myself if I get to the end of the month, and treat myself with a new article of clothing that I’ve been oggling over, or maybe something as simple as a $5 eyebrow wax.”

No Pop Rule:I’m going to try this another time. I drink a lot of soda whether it be diet or diet caffinee free during lunch. It has to stop. But it can’t stop this month because it’s going to be a tough month enough as it is with blogging every day and not having just a generic post to push-out. I need to entertain you all with awesome posts. Not just ramble. You know?  I’ll keep you informed on this one.

Now, I leave you with a video of my puppy dog speaking to me. I have no idea why he hates when I point my finger at him, I never do it when I’m stern or angry with him. I think it’s hilarious. Listen to him!

Running songs

Monday night I ended up running at 9pm with two friends. One of those friends I haven’t ran “alone” with (besides group trail runs) in over a month! It was good to finally get out there with them both and have a good relaxing run. Except it wasn’t relaxing for me. Once again my breathing started getting all crazy and it sounds just like I’m  hyperventilating, or that I have asthma. It gets embarrassing, because my body can do it — since I have done it in the past, and just this past 4 or 5 weeks my breathing has been slowing me down.

I mentioned last week I went to the doctor finally. But there hasn’t been an appointment yet set up for me to get some pulmonary function tests done. So I called my family doctor who is also my soccer team mate. She’s on freaking holidays. She did not make an appointment for me to get my breathing checked. What. the. hell? Just because she thinks I’m fine in soccer (which I sometimes am I mean, you get TONS of breaks with soccer) but c’mon you’re a DOCTOR. If I have breathing problems, just don’t tell me it’s mental if you’ve only known me during a brisk game of soccer, and you haven’t gone on runs with me. To say I am a bit upset at this, is a bit of an understatement.

But since she’s on holidays I somehow sweet-talked my way with the receptionist who will get the replacement Doctor to sign off on a requisition to get me checked out. So much crap to go through just to get peace of mind. Plus, I’m going on holidays soon for two weeks. At least the receptionist is being incredible and looking up places in my city (so I don’t have to travel to my family doctor’s city) so I can have all this stuff done.

So.  Continuing on the topic of running… I update my iPod once in a while (which I haven’t updated it, since I received it in 2007 I don’t think. I KNOW. Crazy.) But I just don’t download music anymore, and I don’t buy the $0.99 songs on itunes. So I’m stuck with either old music or no music when I go out on a run.

Some upbeat music that I have been wanting to put on my ipod lately?

  • I speak no Americano (I LOVE this! It’s insane, but so catchy)
  • Magic. Feat B.O.B. I already have this song, I just have to put it on my iPod. I can definitely see myself running a bit harder when this catchy tune comes on.

Do you run with music?  Do you listen to upbeat / mellow / hardcore music on your runs?  Tell me some songs! I need some new ones :)
