A glimpse into our morning routine

Wake up at 6. Pump and make breakfast for my boys and I. Get myself dressed. Pack eldest his recess snack and water. Get everyone’s teeth brushed, hair brushed, dress my middle boy. Change baby’s diaper. Get middle and baby suited up for walking outside (winter coats – eldest is pretty self sufficient). Put baby in pack-and-play while I grab the keys to get the stroller out. Walk to school and drop off my son, walk home.

After school drop off, I pump again. Get a snack for my middle, and then it’s nap time for baby (around 9:30/10am). Here’s what it looks like:

@spiffykerms Real time: 9:30 this morning. Bagging breastmilk. making bottle for baby. getting snack for my middle. nap time and bottle for baby. will get transfer to crib??? ???????? @Wildbird #sleepsack #naptime #morningroutine ? The Kite Luisa Marion and Noah Floersch – luisa_marion_music

Solo parenting for a week

Last week I was solo parenting all three boys while hubs went on a cycling trip to Southern California. Honestly, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I had my routine set in a matter of a night or two, changed it up so I put the two eldest to bed at the same time and then I had a bit of time with the baby before he went to bed. I didn’t do any extra chores (like laundry) and kept the meals kid-friendly/simple.

On the last day, I was running low on ideas that would please all them for supper. I thought: well, kids like beige carb foods. So that’s what I did. I served them pasta with bread lol. Here’s a TikTok I filmed of it:
