Burberry Cashmere Concealer

Burberry-closed-concealerBurberry Cashmere Concealer is a new addition to the Burberry’s makeup range as of early 2016, so I knew I wanted to pick it up when the April Sephora sale was happening. I knew I wanted something brightening under the eyes and a bit more pink/salmon toned to correct any darkness. I opted for the No. 1 in Porcelain which is a fair colour with a bit of a pink undertone to it.

A lot of creamy concealers don’t seem to work on me, although I love the consistency of them they seem to slide around and disappear from the under eye area. The Burberry Cashmere Concealer stays put with or without setting powder (I like the Hourglass Ambient powder in Dim Light) for around 4-6 hours without needing touch-ups.

What I mean by a touch-up is to fix any creasing it may cause around my undereyes. Nothing a bit of patting from freshly washed hands can’t fix.

The sponge applicator hasn’t gotten clogged up, and I assume it won’t at this point, considering I’ve been using it for 3 months!

Burberry-concealerIt’s definitely my second favourite concealer these days! As you know, I also really enjoy my Cle de Peau concealer stick, too.

Applying-BurberryClick the wand up a couple of times to disperse product into the sponge, then dab along your under eye. I like to do a triangle under the eyes to not only conceal any darkness but also give a lot of light to the eye area.

applying-concealerI always prefer to blend in my concealer with my finger. It blends naturally and seamlessly with the warmth of my finger tips.

before-and-afterBefore and after using the Burberry Cashmere Concealer in No. 01 Porcelain. The lighting is a bit off (I was taking these photos in the early morning so the lighting changed a bit as I was applying my product!).

On Trend Sneakers For Summer

One thing I love about living in California, is how laid-back the style is here. I feel like I could rock wearing sneakers to any sort of event I attend. On a regular basis you’ll probably see me wearing my black, or white faux vans on an everyday basis. Either that or I’m wearing fake keds. Notice a trend here? I don’t tend to buy the real deal because I’m cheap. I shouldn’t be! Considering it’s my feet and I’m usually complaining about them hurting if I’m headed to the City for a day.

Here are 5 of my current favourites for for all budgets – enjoy!

For the most part I wear sneakers 90% of the time, whether they’re slip on or street-style. Here are some of my favourite sneakers for summer.

Brooks Chariot HeritageBrooks Women’s Chariot Heritage $99. 80s babies rejoice! The 80s sneakers are making a huge comeback and I’m all about hopping on that train. I LOVE these Brooks Women’s Chariot Heritage $99. They come in a huge array of colour combos to choose from (and not just suede, either). Who digs them as much as me?

downloadConverse Shoreline sneaker $55-75. Woah, did you know you could customize your own chucks? I’ve been eyeing the lowtop shoreline white converse shoe for months. But it was only when I visited their site that I realized you could customize the colour, print, and even stripe on the shoe! These are such a classic. I remember having a pair of Converse high tops as a kid.

perfvan2Vans Perf Leather Slip-On $60. Perforated vans in black, or white. These are my everyday shoe (except mine are from Target, hee hee). I think they’re so classic, and they’ve been going with everything I’ve been wearing for the past year or more. I love the suede perf too that I pinn’ed here.

SUPERGA-COTU-CLASSICSuperga Cotu Classic $33-65. These are quite similar to the converse shoes I love, but have a touch of “hey what are those?” to them. I know that Target now has a collaboration with them and I think they’re under $30!

Nike Air Max TheaNike Air Max Thea $90. I spotted these at the mall with a black tongue and laces, and they look way better than the all red listed on their site. I took so many photos of them, I might have to go back and grab them up!

Honourable mentions of Sneaker Love that are probably not available anymore but I found them on Pinterest. Grey suede reeboks! Nude suede nikes with gold swish. Grey on grey nike sneakers. Pink suede sneakers by a brand I’ve never heard of. Maybe I just like suede sneakers?

Now, if I only had all the money to buy every shoe I listed, I’d be set.

What kind of shoes do you gravitate towards? Flats, sandals, heels, sneakers?

Rituals Duo Eyeshadow

Rituals-HeaderI know! I had no idea Rituals made makeup, either!

I love the Rituals philosophy and it’s so simple – happiness can be found in the smallest of things. Their passion is to transform our everyday routines into meaningful rituals. Rituals is enriched with pulverised gemstones and pure minerals. That way their makeup is richly pigmented and so mild on your skin. They are an all-natural company who uses organic ingredients (or safe alternatives). They’re not tested on animals.

Duo-eyeshadow-13I was pumped when I received my parcel in the mail from them, thinking I was getting a few body and skin care items to try out. I have two eyeshadow duos but this one is going to be about the #13 (I’ll save the other one, for another post!). Unfortunately I have no idea what colours to show you that I received since the back of the eyeshadow says #13, but on their website it’s sorted by the colours. This one might be the creamy pink and taupe.

Rituals-13-swatchThe packaging of the eyeshadows are nice and sleek, not overly heavy but definitely well-made. And want to know something neat? They’re made in Italy! The eyeshadows were super easy to blend and had little to no fall-out. I applied the shadows without a primer underneath and look how pigmented it still was. I even used that little spongey applicator it came with. Awesome.

Rituals-EyeshadowsOut of the two duo eyeshadows I have for review, this one is definitely the favourite one I have. It brings out my blue eyes, using neutrals like that. You can use these eyeshadows wet too, but I haven’t tried since whenever I tend to do that on an eyeshadow palette, the shadows get this weird coating over-top and it’s more difficult to use. If anyone else has tried, let me know!

Rituals-Eyeshadows-onNice and soft, and easy to blend out as I mentioned. Definitely a really nice creamy-like powdered eyeshadow and so nice to work with considering I don’t wear eyeshadow regularly.
