Accessorizing your outfits

Having arm candy or necklaces can really spruce up an otherwise boring outfit.

You can easily look put together wearing a great pair of fitted, dark wash jeans with a plain white v-neck top.You just have to accessorize those outfits of yours! It’s fun to get creative with it all.

While I do like the look of bracelets, bangles and jewelry on my wrists, I get annoyed with them banging around if they’re too big. As I pointed out previously, I have abnormally small wrists so a lot of bracelets are bulky on me and tend to not be secure and tight.

I’ve done my research and purchased customizable sized items so it doesn’t feel too big on my arm. For instance:

  1. Hello Berry bracelets (my HelloBerry review) are custom-made for your own arm. HelloBerry is sold on Etsy and they’re located not too far from me, in Toronto, Canada! When you’re purchasing which ever bracelets you wan, you just measure your wrist and tell them the size in the form. These bracelets do not have a clasp, they slide right over your hand and fit on that way. Sooo fun. I’m loving gold lately.
  2. Fossil Watches are another nice statement piece. You can create so many different looks by paring your watches up with bracelets and bangles. The watch I am wearing above, is a Fossil Stella watch in White Resin. I own the black version of it as well (see online here). Fossil’s watches are so great because they have some really nice classic pieces, as well as trendy colorful one’s as well, like rose gold or a nice teal blue. I’m thinking of getting a third watch from Fossil. I have one picked out already but I don’t want to show you unless I actually get it.
  3. Inexpensive elastic-like bracelets from Ardene.
  4. Cute statement or simple rings.

I also love incorporating scarves, cute handbags and shoes. I LOVE shoes, but I am so picky with them.

OOTWW

My outfit of the work week! I watched the forecast for the week and paired my clothes accordingly. I also ended up doing a bit of shopping at Old Navy on Tuesday and picked up a few clearance items for a great price. I wore one of the tank tops climbing with Stephanie on Wednesday evening (photos to come!) and there was this super neon plum colored burn-out tee that I will wear next week :)

Also since it is my birth month, I ended up getting my license sticker renewed. I hope I have the whole month to do it, because I filled it out all online yesterday. 5 business days til it gets here? Hopefully there aren’t any errors and omissions insurance on my form.

Ooo! More news:

If anyone is in, or near the Toronto Eaton Centre tomorrow (Saturday May 5, 2012) be sure to pop into Sephora as Make Up For Ever has an event going on.  MAKE UP FOR EVER is hosting a Vintage Lip Photobooth event. They will be offering clients complimentary lip touch ups and an opportunity to have their picture taken in the vintage photo booth that will be in store that day! How fun would that be? Conveniently enough I will be in Toronto tomorrow as my boyfriend surprised me with tickets to the AGO to see Picasso’s 147 paintings!! AGH!!!

EOS — Evolution Of Smooth

What the heck am I holding in my hands?

It’s an EOS (Evolution Of Smooth) lip balm! Crazy right?EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm in Strawberry Sorbet

Regardless of how awesome the product may be inside, I think the best part about EOS products has definitely got to be the eye catching packaging they’ve come up with. Everything is egg shaped, and so cute.

EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm in Strawberry Sorbet is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben free. It’s also enriched with Shea butter and Vitamin E.

If I didn’t know the scent of the Strawberry Sorbet, I would’ve said it smelled a little like play-dough. But now that I got the scent figured out I now realize that it is in fact Strawberry. It’s really pleasant, despite the first initial sniff of the product, unknowingly what scent it was. Oopsie.

The packaging of the EOS lip balms either comes in a cardboard package like this, or wrapped up in plastic wrap like mine did. The one shown above is a HoneySuckle scent. Also amazing.

As a Graphic Designer, I’m always on my computer at work. Meaning I’m constantly touching my keyboard and mouse. My hands get so unbelievably dry all year round I even have been nick-named Lizard Hands by some people in the past. So I have a constant stock pile of lotions at my desk just so I don’t have that scaly look to my hands all day long. Not attractive.

Another great eye catching design by EOS.

EOS Everyday Hand lotion in a light fruity scent. It’s 97% natural and comes in a few different scents. It smells so clean, like you just washed your hands kind of scent. It is at my desk at work, and it’s important for me to use a hand lotion that doesn’t’ leave a film once rubbed in. You know that feeling, right? I don’t want greasy palm prints on my mouse, nor residue left on my keyboard. This EOS hand lotion is so convertible that you can easily slip it into your pocket or purse and it won’t leak, or take up much room.

You may notice that the EOS hand lotion may look really small but due to the unique, sleek packaging it looks like you are getting less. Remember to look at the millilitres or ounces that you’re getting. I compared my drugstore hand cream to the EOS Hand Lotion and EOS had 4ml less. Not bad, especially since EOS retails for $3.99 CDN and my hand cream was $6.00.

The EOS Hand Lotions aren’t yet available to us Canadians. But they’ll be launching in May/June. But you can pick up EOS products at major retailers such as Chapters/Indigo, RW&Co, and Walmart.

Have you tried out any EOS products before? When EOS first came out with their Smooth Sphere Lip Balm’s I picked up two at RW&Co in the Fresh Mint scent. One to give to my bestie in Ottawa for Christmas and one for myself to keep. Such great products!
