BECCA Cosmetics Sunlit Bronzer Collection

BECCA Cosmetics launched new line of gorgeous glowing products. The 5 shades of Sunlit Bronzers are described as neutral bronzers for every skin tone and retail for $38USD /$46CDN.

The Sunlit Bronzers launched last month on Ulta.com and BeccaCosmetics.com, and is now on Sephora.com and in stores.

I’ve always loved looking extra bronze and often sport a self-tan. Surprisingly, the two lighter shades don’t show up on me as well when I have self-tanner on, so I reach for the rest of the shades depending on the look I’m going for. On my birthday I wore a combo of Ipanema Sun all over where the sun would hit, and Maui Nights to bring redness to my forehead. It all makes sense in my head! ;) Scroll down to see the bronzers on. BECCA Cosmetics Sunlit Bronzer Collection

BECCA Cosmetics Sunlit Bronzer Collection swatchesYou can see above, on the swatches on my arm that the bronzers applied more on the sheer side. Which makes it easier in my opinion for layering them to create a beached bronze look. The bronzers in the pan have a bit of shimmer which somewhat translates onto the skin, but nothing outrageous and sparkly.

Bali Sands| a soft golden beige. I’m positive this would work best for fair to light skintones.

Capri Coast| a warm golden brown. For light-medium skintones. This would be my bronzer shade when I’m not wearing self-tanner.

Bronzed Bondi| a medium amber. For medium skintones. This could work for both light and medium skintones. I used this as a ‘natural looking’ bronzer when I’m tan.

Ipanema Sun| a medium aburn brown. For medium-dark skintones. This is the shade I reach for to create that deep bronze glow to my skin (when I’m self-tan).

Maui Nights| a sienna kissed bronzed. For deep skintones. This has a lot of red tones in it than the other 4 shades in the collection, and I used this lightly on my forehead, as I mentioned above (for my birthday) and I loved the effect. As for the colour range, they all lean on the golden side than cooler tones.

BECCA Cosmetics Sunlit BronzersOverall I’m loving it, it’s the first powder complexion product I reviewed from BECCA, and the powders are soft and buttery as I’d imagine. Such a beautiful collection to add warmth to your skin this summer.

Five Things Friday . 002

Hey pals! Hope your week was smooth sailin’ and not too many bumps in the road. Another week has gone by, meaning it’s time to end it by posting my Five Things Friday (and pop over to Erin’s site to give her Five Things Friday post some love too!). Let me know what you got up to this week, and tell me if you’ve tried some of these products I’m about to talk about, below!

01. KÉRASTASE VOLUME IN POWDER|
This is liquid gold if you love texture in your hair. Expensive yes, worth it — absolutely. Aveda and Kérastase products are my top two brands to recommend for hair-related-anything and everything. The scent is beautiful but unfortunately doesn’t stick around, which I guess is good for those who didn’t want it to in the first place. Note, this VIP spray from Kérastase is not a dry shampoo, it’s a dry powder texturizing spray that adds volume, texture and density to the hair. I use this any day: wash day (for more texture), and on second or third day to give life to my straggly ends. I only first heard about it a few weeks ago from one of Ingrid‘s YouTube videos and I immediately wanted it.

02. BIRTHDAY CAKE|
My birthday is in a few shorts days and although many have stopped feeling joyful when their birthdays roll around — I ain’t one of ’em. I LOVE all birthdays. Yours, mine. Everyone’s. It’s their special day and I love it. I cannot wait to eat ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. I can’t wait to shop for myself (lol), and I can’t wait to get birthday phone calls.

03. TRADER JOE’S YELLOW CURRY|
Such a good find last year. Why is it on the bottom of all the canned good shelves? It’s not like it an unpopular product, cause I mean, it’s almost always sold out when I go. It’s delicious and I put it on chicken and cook up basmati rice and you have yourself a quick ‘n super easy meal. Scott requests I make veggies with it too. Fine. It tastes just as amazing with roasted broccolini on the side. Psst, broccolini tastes way better than regular broccoli (if you’re not a fan of the green trees).

04. THIS PLANT|
California is so cool. This aloe-vera-like plant is just chillin’ on the sidewalk like it was a weed. I’m still in awe of what grows around here. Like, exotic plants like Bird of Paradise flowers just grow all over the place. It’s nuts, and I love it.

05. ALFIE|
This little guy doesn’t get nearly enough attention on the blog as much anymore. I know people love seeing his sweet little face. Let’s try to change that (as in, me… blogging about him more: noted).

Quick look at BECCA Cosmetics Sunlit Bronzers

BECCA Cosmetics has an entire collection of silky smooth highly pigmented bronzers that launched days ago. And well happy early birthday to me folks – I reached out to BECCA and they sent the entire collection. Five new bronzers in my bronzer-wardrobe. My face couldn’t be happier. You know I love to pile on the bronzer, hee hee.

Welcome to my life, BECCA Cosmetics Sunlit Bronzer Collection (affiliate link), whooowee is all I can say. Whoo-wee. I used them for the first time today, as I was filming a YouTube ‘Get Ready With Me’ and went for two of the five colours, first a reddish toned (on me) in the shade, then I followed up with something a bit more on the grey side to finish it up and blend it all in.

I’ll get into details about this in a later post. Any first initial thoughts/questions for me that I can answer in a future post about these? I also wanted to note, the outer packaging on these bronzers are gold rather than the typical silver that BECCA usually tends to do. I’m diggin’ it.
