Dior Rouge | The New Lipstick

DIOR-ROUGE-HEADERDior recently launched a new collection of lipsticks called Dior Rouge The New Lipstick. Not just a handful — 50 shades, with 5 finishes. I was sent four of the lipsticks for review and if you’re into seeing them swatched on my lips real-time, watch the YouTube video I filmed last month!

I mean, that’s a huge launch for anyone. What was a little unexpected was that Dior came out with some colours labeled as extreme (finishes), which were just that: bold, surprising, and fun colours. In my opinion, it’s something that definitely is more playful for Dior than just the classic colours. And boy, do I have an intense playful colour to show you, hoooboy. Upon making my YouTube video they had yet to be launched — but you can definitely get your hands on them now for $43.00 CDN.

The shades I have are comfortable to apply, have high pigmentation with zero patchiness and are fantastic colours that lasts on the lips. With 50 shades of lipsticks and all sorts of fun finishes to choose from there is definitely a Dior Rouge out there for everyone.

The five different finishes:

  • Natural Nudes [9 satin colours + 2 matte colours]
  • Pretty Pinks [9 satin colours + 3 matte colours]
  • Passionate Corals [8 satin colours + 3 matte colours]
  • Legendary Reds [10 satin colours + 3 matte colours]
  • Extreme Matte [all matte shades]

Amongst the 50 colours to choose from, 4 cult colours shaped the History of colour and couture of Dior: (taken from Dior’s website)

  • 080 Red Smile, worn by Natalie Portman. The luminous and fresh red-coral, irresistible must-have inspired from the 080 Red shade created in 1959.
  • 999 Matte, matte version of the famous 999. The perfect red of the House Dior.
  • 047 Miss, the colour of love. Vibrant and intense fuchsia: in memory of the unforgettable fragrance Miss Dior.
  • 060 Première, the red of the first times. The rosewood, easy to wear, easy to dare.

Lip-cap-is-redYou’ll notice that the inside of cap of the lipstick bullet is red as well. They’ve thought it all through, as you’d imagine. Colour above: Actrice [Passionate Coral].

Because Dior decided to do a little somethin’ different to switch it all up, I decided to smooch the back of my hand for the swatches to switch things up a little too. So let’s get swatchin’!

Hourglass Vanish Foundation (with before/after pics!)

HourglassVanish-Header

hourglass-boxWhen I first opened the pr box I got from Hourglass, I thought (and tweeted out) “whoa nelly“. I mean, what a beauty! I’m still fairly new to the Hourglass line, only using their Arch Brow for my eyebrows, and the ever so popular ambient lighting powder in the shade dim light that I bought a mini size of at Sephora. Everything that I’ve tried from them has been nothing but excellent and well worth the money.

Vanish-FoundationHourglass recently launched their Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation available in 26 shades! Shaped in a triangle tube, applied as a stick-foundation. But don’t let that scare you away. I know we’ve all tried stick foundations that either didn’t blend well, or applied too thick.

It’s not the case with the Vanish Foundation, because it’s all in the name. It really does vanish into the skin. You know I love me a natural foundation look!

Alfie goes hiking | POM Friday

Wide-open-hikeWell, I take my words back on saying that its cooled down and fall has arrived. Mother Nature lied. I seem to forget how long these sunny days last. I mean, it’s almost there, with a cool morning but then it ends up being one scorcher of a day come mid-afternoon.

standing-stillMy mistake taking Alfie hiking on Tuesday when it was 34+C (I think it was in the 90’s if you’re in the Fahrenheit-speak). So the hike was cut short, but I think the little mister definitely enjoyed himself. He loves his car rides and now he’s started to pick up on the word “adventure”, and whenever I say it to him or my husband that I’ll be taking Alfie on an adventure, Alfie looks at me with excited eyes. I’ve also been getting quite a bit of good use out of my Mizuno Sayonara’s. Anyone want to see a review between the Wave Riders and the Sayonara’s I have? Thoughts?

Mazda3

Alfies-AdventuresAgain, I took the Mazda 3 hatch out for a drive down to South San Jose (I think). That’s Alfie’s excited face :)

Lucky-RingsBut whenever hiking alone, I remove my wedding rings and don’t carry valuables with me. Pthf…never know! Creeps are everywhere man. I get sketched out, plus Alfie isn’t exactly a protector dog size, even though he’s a loud-mouth he will deter any weirdos with his loud barking lol. So I’ve seen these silicone wedding rings around the internet for a few years but didn’t think anything of it. Lucky Rings reached out to me and asked if Scott and I wanted to try them out. Honestly, they’re just that — silicone so they’re super inexpensive (and I got 7 colours to choose from lol) but handy to have around when you still want to wear something on your ring finger, but don’t want to wear the bling. If I was still into CrossFit (It’s too much $$$ here for my membership) I’d wear it to that too, since it’s bendy and won’t scratch or damage your real rings. Scott got a two-pack as well, but I’m not sure how often he’s going to wear them if we’re being completely honest! By the way, I wasn’t sponsored by any of the brands mentioned. I did receive product to try, but wasn’t required to blog about it. Thought I’d let you know!
