INGREDIENTS
1 cup sugar
½ cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup gumdrops
2 cups flour
¼ tsp baking powder
¾ cup milk
A “pinch” of salt [not even ¼ tsp]
DIRECTIONS
- Butter the cake pan
- Cut gum drops and place in ½ cup of the flour.
- Cream butter and sugar and add eggs. Beat well.
- Add salt, flour and baking powder.
- Put in Gum Drops.
- Bake in a 300 degree oven for 1 – 1 1/2 hours. Check after 50 mins.
I use the candy type gum drops, but you can use the proper ones for baking if you like. They are much smaller so you don’t have to cut them. Don’t put any black ones in or else your cake will turn out black.
