Riceworks giveaway!

Guess what? The first time I actually had a Riceworks chip was live at the BlogHer booth down in San Diego just in August.  I picked up my five free bags of Riceworks chips and I got to sample tons of different flavors. I tried to get all five flavors but I went to a few different grocery stores and couldn’t find the Tangy BBQ flavor. Shoot!

They modeled for me, as I took portraits of them. They were nice and quiet for me, which I appreciated. Until I dug in and crunched them all with my teeth. Mmmffchoompghhh.

My boyfriend and I ended up opening up the four different flavors and doing a little taste test over the weekend to see which one we deemed as our favorite.

Left to right: Sweet Chili, Parmesan, Salsa Fresca, Sea Salt

What I had initially thought were going to be my favorites since I’m a plain chip type of gal, I was surprised when the ones I picked out were the bottom of my taste buds favorite list. I actually ended up liking the Salsa Fresca , Sweet Chili, Parm, then Sea Salt. When the taste test was over, I ended up putting the rest of the chips back in the bags, and took the bowl of Salsa Fresca with me to the table and finishing off the bowl. Soo good.

Scotts top faves were “the first three”, he didn’t pick out just one favorite and just said he’d eat them all if he was given them…guys!

We both thought the sea salt was a bit too bland and I suggest it tasted like those rice cakes.

It definitely has some great benefits as Riceworks is made with whole grain brown rice, it’s wheat and gluten free (well “duh” I suppose, since it’s made out of rice). Vegans? Yep, you can eat (some flavors of) these, and it’s also Celiac friendly. If you’re not feeling like eating them directly out of the bag, you can actually cook with Riceworks and make stuff like Salsa Fresca Fajita Salad, or Sweet Chili Inside Out Spring Rolls. Drooling already.

Guess what else?

Looks like Alfie’s on guard of the front door, so nobody steals our Riceworks chips!

I’m going to give away five free bags for you guys as well! What do you think of that? I’m wondering if there should be five separate winners? (one coupon each) or one winner who will get all five bags? What do you think it should be? Leave a suggestion in the comments below. Comments are open, so you can enter as many times as you’d like. But be creative! Tell me what flavors you think Riceworks should make next, or how you’d share them!

Let’s get it started. The quicker we get this giveaway on the go, the quicker these chips will be in your own hands!

Let’s say the contest ends…..ahh, how about next week? Sunday October 2, 2011 at 2pm EST. That’s enough time sure, right? :) Contest is open to residents of Canada and the US of A. Oh yeah.

Good luck!

Pssst. If you can’t wait til next week to see whose won, you can get a $1.00 off coupon on Riceworks website — that is, if you confess your snacking sins.

OOTWW

Only another short week here at work. OH HAYYYY I’m on vacation! Here’s what I wore to work this week!

I dropped off Alfie to our trainers house on Wednesday morning, bright and early — 6:45 (!!) and I miss him already. I hope he’s playing well with the other puppas. He can be a bit anti-social and bold. Little frigger! I’ll be back to regular blogging (and of course CrossFitting, since I missed so much in August while I was away) in September when I’m back. I have a few reviews and giveaways lined up for when I return. Trust me, you’ll want to be apart of this. It includes a booth or two that I visited while at BlogHer. :)

Sunny San Diego recap [Day 4]

This is my second last recap from my vacation in San Diego. It’s also going to be the longest since I feel like I’ve been back forever and haven’t posted everything I wanted to show you, lol.

Sunny San Diego burnt me to a crisp. Look how red I was. Ouch ouch ouch.

In-N-Out is a fast food restaurant only in California (though supposedly it’s branching out to other states), and the girls said it was a must-try! The neat thing about In-N-Out is that the food is fresh, never frozen and the potatoes are all made from scratch. I liked the old school style of it. Like it’s from the 50’s!

Shannon and I in the backseat of Judy’s car, all covered up from too much sun the previous day.

We’re just two hours south of Los Angeles. Let’s go!

This was a Mormon Church that we passed along the freeway. Incredible architecture.

So. Many. Palm trees. I love them!

Suitable photo – a surfer on a skateboard. I thought this was neat :) I don’t think he minded a car full of girls smiling at him and taking his photo. AH! Paparazzi!

Surfers, heading to the beach.

Pacific beach!

Where were we off to next?

Judy then drove us up to Mt. Soledad, which was a memorial area for the Veterans, which overlooked the city of San Diego. I took photos of the city, but they weren’t that interesting, so here are some photos of us girls, once again :)

We went driving around for a surf store to do some shopping, but we ended up at a rental place. Fail! So we drove around a bit more, saw this cute antique car. Then found our way to a Surfing rental and retail store. I bought the Boyf a nice shirt, and a tank top for myself. Shannon ended up buying some very neat pieces of art at this spot. Check out the driftwood all modeled into a wave.

Boy this was a fun day. Judy knowing her way around the city, taking us places. Unfortunately Judy had to leave us for a few hours (she lives in San Diego) so we took her car for the afternoon and then headed to Target!

We then dropped two out of us four girls wanted to go shopping/back to the hotel. So Jess and I stole Judy’s car and went for a cruise around town!

This was our hotel, massive right? Twin towers – 25 floors each. We had the best room # ever: 2011.Taking Judy’s car for a little jaunt back to Fashion Valley Mall we went! ha!

First stop. Kate Spade.Business in the front, party in the back. Too bad these heels were uncomfortable and felt cheap on my foot. Otherwise, they would’ve been mine.

We headed back to Norstrom where I purchased some super sparkly earrings for $30!

Eating dinner at The Marble Room (an old Brothel).

That is that! Our final night in San Diego. Tomorrow will just be a short blog entry about my last (morning) there. Sad!!

Psst: Even though my computer is broke at home, I’m still pumping out blog posts from my old school laptop that feels like whenever I lay it on anything the object is going to catch fire. So stay tuned. I’ll need a power supply “or worse” the boyfriend says. Maybe it’s just an easy fix like getting pc to tv cables, or something. I don’t know.
