It’s my second time bringing up DHC’s products, and if you missed the post back in August, I’ll give you a quick rundown of it. DHC is a skincare brand from Japan,
I’ve never tried a cleansing oil before, mainly due to the fact I’m still pretty happy with my philosophy purity cleanser. But this was neat to try out for a month or two, while I set my purity cleanser aside for a bit to truly give this cleansing oil a good go.
Remember that I have dry/dehydrated skin. Any cleanser that doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight is a winner in my books. Luckily the DHC Cleansing Oil ($28 USD) (Canadian pals: you can shop DHC on Amazon Canada!) allows my face to feel nourished after the fact. You have to use this cleansing oil with dry hands, and apply it onto a dry face to remove all traces of makeup. I use about 1-2 pumps each night and that’s sufficient for the removal of all the makeup I wear on a semi-daily basis. I don’t wear waterproof mascara so I don’t know how well it works for that (but it does claim it removes it well!). It’s not surprising that the cleansing oil has a 5 star review with over 5,000 people reviewing it.
It’s definitely a nice cleanser. At first I thought it was going to be too oily on my skin and leave a residue. It didn’t. In fact, it felt like a really light olive oil (that’s the best way I can describe it) and it washes off with water leaving your skin feel rehydrated, yet dissolving the makeup easily. It doesn’t get all oily-feeling in your eyes, nor does it make your skin feel oily/sticky after the fact. I’m digging it.
