Buy the Dior Gel Coat. Yep.

WHY HAVE I NEVER TOLD YOU ABOUT THIS?

Dior gel coatI’ve dropped so many of my dollahs on this beautiful Dior product. I re-purchased it many a time. Yea, that’s right. Just because I work with a brand, doesn’t mean I don’t spend money on their products. CAUSE I DO. Buy the Dior Gel Coat.

Let’s call this top coat exactly what it is, a beautiful top coat to finish off your mani/pedi. It’s like the seche vite of quick drying top coats. Except the Dior one I wouldn’t call quick drying, more like shellac-like-top coat. It creates a shiny finish to your nails, and potentially lasts as long as a shellac. I haven’t found it lasted quite that long (2+ weeks, pfth yeah right), but it does last a while. And that’s why I’ve repurchased it. In fact, I need Sephora to have their 20% off VIB sale soon, when is that happening by the way? Anyone know? I know it happens twice a year. I need to stock up, I only have about an eighth of the product left.

Plus, it doesn’t get all goopy when you’re half way through the bottle (ahem, like other top coats do). Just saying.

As most of the Dior nail polished I’ve tried out in the past, they have been consistent with their formulation. That’s what sucks me in. Perfectly creamy colours, no shimmer, and the widest application brush for fools like me who make a mess with painting nails with the scrawny nail polish brushes. I just can’t do it man! I am consistently raving about Sally Hansen & Dior brushes. They’re almost identical to one another, but of course not identical in price. Obviously.

You can buy it at Macy’s (where I first purchased it). But I’d recommend buying it at Sephora, so you can get your points for it.

P.S: This week I’m talking about everything DIOR beauty related. Dior needs more love on my blog, plus I have some items from the Spring collection to show you. Come back every day this week if you’re interested :)

Dior Vernis — Limited Edition

Dior-Vernis-Spring-and-LillI decided to share the love with this collection of limited edition Dior Vernis. While I was home in Newfoundland I received an abundance of Dior goodies from the company. My younger cousin lucked out, as I gave her two of the four, for her nail polish collection. She even did some nail polish swatches for me, for this blog — thanks Claire!

We’re a bit different in what we like in regards to nail polish formula and brushes. I’ve always said, Sally Hansen & Dior are my top two brands of nail polish I prefer to stick to. Primarily because of the nice shape and size of the brush. Where as my cousin Claire stated to me that while she likes the nail polish she found the brush too wide. She mentioned it was hard to keep it within the nail. Brands like OPI and Essie have smaller brushes which she prefers — and I definitely do not.

Here are the swatches. Spring-and-Lili

Dior Spring is my cult classic this Fall. I have been wearing it for weeks, and only wore Lili simply for the sake of taking nail polish swatches. Lili is a colour I’d naturally gravitate towards, but Spring — boy, that’s something special. A muted purple-grey. I’ve received so many compliments on it in person, and Instagram. It’s a beaut.

My cousin sent over some polish swatches of hers. An odd thing to notice but doesn’t she have the best nail beds? They’re so much longer than mine. Diorette-and-Star

I’m not sure if it was a help from the Dior Gel Coat top coat or not, but when I wore Dior Spring — I hadn’t had a chip in 5 DAYS. I went climbing one of the days, and my nails were a bit scratched on the surface but still no chipping. I’m telling ya, you get what you pay for. The Gel Coat was bought by me, a number of months ago. But I love using it on top of any Dior polish as my top coat to get a shellac like finish that lasts. The 4 Dior Vernis colours are available at The Bay for $26 CDN and are limited edition, so get your hands on them now if you want to snatch one up.

Nailed it!

I’ve nailed it with my top five nail polishes for spring, for both fingers and toes!

nailed-it

5-spring-nail-polishes 1. YSL Rose Scabiosa // 2. Dior Bloom // 3. Dior Bouquet // 4. Barry M Peach Melba // 5. Sally Hansen Pink Slip

Brucci-and-Dior-Gel-CoatFor nail hardener and top coat I’ve been using with 100% thanks to Jessica who introduced me to both these nail products. Brucci nail hardener is what I have on, in the photo with my hand, along with the Dior gel coat on top which is just as shiny as shellac nail polish is. Tip is to apply just one coat of Dior the day I use a polish, and apply another coat a few days later for added shine. It stays on incredible well without chipping, almost like a shellac but can be removed easily with nail polish remover.

How often do you wear nail polish?

Disclosure: YSL Rose Scabiosa, Dior Bloom & Dior Bouquet were supplied to me by the PR companies. The rest of the polishes were either bought or gifted to me.
