Dior Pret-A-Porter Nail Polish Swatches

All-Dior-PolishesDior Pret-A-Porter nail polish swatches are here! What do you think of them all? Scroll down for close ups of each polish that is launching for the Autumn-Winter 2014-2015 collection.

Dior-Rose-Tutu-ThumbRose Tutu is the colour I mentioned that would be a fantastic transition into Autumn. A great peachy pink for those girly girls.

Dior-Pied-De-Poule-thumbPied-De-Poule. Oh I couldn’t wait to show you this swatch. I am happy it doesn’t give me the mannequin hands that I thought it would. Wrap yourself up in a knit cardigan with this great taupe-grey colour and walk along in the park crunching on those freshly fallen leaves.

Dior-Bar-902Bar is such an easy black colour to wear. I never thought I’d wear black polish, but it’s hard to say no when it looks so good on the nails. I’m transitioning from regular neutral nails to a intense rich black this Autumn.

Dior-Massai-thumbMassï is an eye popping, dramatic, intense rich red. You can never go wrong with a red nail.

Dior-Carre-Bleu-ThumbCarré Bleu is a midnight navy which gives the nail a sophisticated, pulled together look for Fall.

Dior presents: Pret-A-Porter

Dior-Pret-A-PorterA few days ago I gave you a teaser post as to what is coming for Dior’s Prêt-À-Porter Autumn-Winter 2014-2015 launch.

Dior-fall-polishesI thought I’d share my favourite out of the collection, first. The nail polishes.

Dior-Rose-TutuRose Tutu is a perfect shade to slowly bring one into the colder months. It still has a bit of summer colour throughout it, yet would be great for those who don’t think they can pull off darker colours.

Dior-Pied-De-PoulePied-De-Poule is a colour I was a bit leary of when I first laid eyes on it. I can’t wait to show you how it swatches.

Dior--BarBar is an easy to wear, simple black polish that requires two coats to be completely opaque and glossy. Who will be rocking black nails this Autumn?

Dior-MassaiMassï makes a reappearance from early spring, I thought it’d best be suited for an Autumn-Winter collection than Spring/Summer. This colour on your finger nails would look fantastic sitting in a coffee shop, bundled up, simply people watching or chatting with your girlfriends.

Dior-Carre-BleuCarré Bleu is a beautiful shade of navy that looks creamy and rich on the nail.

Dior-lined-up-polishesRegardless of what I’m doing, or how long the nail polish last, my nails are always painted. They don’t always stay in pristine condition due to me rock climbing all the time (taking a resting period now, due to my finger injury) so my nails have grown significantly fast in the last few weeks of rest, which conveniently makes for prettier nail polish swatches.

5-Dior-Polishes-on-boxYou’ll have to wait until Monday to see the swatches on my hand though ;)

Any colours stick out to you? Which colour would you paint your nails?

4 Ways To Make Your Summer Pedicure Last

4-ways-make-pedicure-last

Who doesn’t love getting pampered once in a while? I love going to the salon and getting my toes painted fun, bright colours, especially during the summer when I’ve been rocking a bit more self-tanner than usual and I’m blending in with all the California tanned skinned people. I’m not the pale Canadian any more. By all means rock your paleness if you choose to do so. I personally prefer a bit of sun kissed glow to my skin.

I know it can be annoying to get a chip in your polish a few days after paying big bucks to get them done professionally, or even at home. Today I’m sharing my secrets with you on how to make your summer pedicure last.

Dior-nail-polishesBring your own nail polish

I’m not going to get into details, but I’m positive bringing your own polish to a salon is far more sanitary than using the ones provided. I don’t know how long the polish has been sitting on the shelves, which that can add into the factor of your polish not living up to its full potential. Bonus is that when you bring your own polish and it happens to chip, you have the exact colour to touch up.

Scrub your feet often

Dry heels and feet are a total eyesore, so why not keep them soft and smooth every way you can? Buy yourself a pumice stone with a handle (tweezerman is the best one I’ve used). After you’ve been in the shower and your feet are washed, and warmed up, give those heels a good scrub to keep them looking in tip top shape. I prefer to keep my heels and feet as soft and supple looking as possible, so I do this step every day.

Sephora-Cuticle-OilMoisturize your feet and cuticles

Keeping your feet looking moisturized makes them look healthier and prevent you from future dry cracked heels which can be painful. Applying a cuticle oil will help your pedicure to look fresh and of course, will help your polish last.

Apply a clear top coat

Take any clear top coat nail polish, apply a fresh coat of polish to your nail to keep it looking glossy and brand new. Another added tip is if you apply your clear coat polish to the edges of your nails (where you clip them), it will prevent any polish from lifting and chipping. Seche Vite, and Dior polishes are my go-to for top coats.
