July Canadian Glossybox

Yep, July’s Glossybox. Better late than never! It arrived in early August, but I just had so much going on that I didn’t take the time to photograph the inside, or do a video on it until recently. July’s Glossybox finally arrived, and when it did come — I thought it was August’s. I completely forgotten that I hadn’t received last months. I know this is a little late going up but here it is, non the less.

Glossybox has the best packaging out of all of the subscription boxes I’ve ever gotten. The boxes are nice and heavy duty, I don’t throw these away.

  • A full sized Dove body wash
  • Peppermint foot lotion
  • Zoya nail polish
  • John Freida frizz-ease
  • Eucerin body cream
  • Beauty so clean sanitizing wipes

I was happy with every item I received, minus one product, which I’ll talk more about below the last image.

I’ve been experiencing eczema throughout the dry winters here in Ontario, so I was excited to see that they’ve sent a trial sized Eucerin body lotion in the box for July. I’ve been an avid fan of this particular product for about a year and a half. It soothes my dry, itchy skin in the winter and you can find it at Shoppers Drug Mart, and I’ve even seen it at Walmart. I’m sure it’s around everywhere.

Love that we have a full sized body wash from Dove. It’s just a regular body wash, nothing spectacular but of course it doesn’t have to be. It’s a nice wash, and probably very inexpensive. I’d buy this again!

The peppermint foot lotion had an interesting consistency. It came out like a light weight lotion, but took a while to rub in like it was a thicker cream. Very hydrating on the heels.

I have yet to try the John Freida frizz-ease as I don’t have frizzy hair. I may give this one away, along with the beauty so clean sanitizing wipes.

To be honest, I’m getting annoyed with the beauty subscription boxes not paying any attention to the beauty surveys we all fill out. Each month I have to fill out the survey out for Glossybox, because each month I have to unsubscribe, re-subscribe and fill out the survey if I want to “pay” for my box using the GlossyDots/points.

I always select that I want neutral colors, not bold, or a variation of neutral/bold colors. Only neutral. And I got this weird green polish by Zoya. I’ve always wanted to try out Zoya nail polishes, but I will never be putting a witch green color on my nails. It’s just not my taste, or style. Yuck. lol.

July’s TopBox

I’ll try my best to update you guys on how I’m liking my monthly boxes, if I used the products and what I think of it. Sometimes I’m lazy and just flick the samples that I receive, in a pile and let them accumulate until I get sick of seeing them and either try them out, or give them away. I know… isn’t that completely pointless?

Perhaps doing these recaps will help me actually try out more products, instead of just subscribing and hoarding all these samples.

Each month when I get either my TopBox, GlossyBox, or (my favorite) Glymm box, I do an unveiling video. You get to see my true reaction to the products. I’ve been subscribed to these boxes for over a year now. July marks the 1 year mark for me subscribing to Glymm!

So first up to the plate is my July Topbox.

Here is July’s TopBox shown above.

China Glaze nail polish: I’m not one to go for bright colors, especially for my finger nails. I usually reserve the bold brights for my toes in the summer. I couldn’t resist trying this neon pink polish on my fingers for the summer. Neon polish tends to dry to a matte finish, but that is easily fixable with a high gloss top coat. The only issue I have with China Glaze nail polish is that it seems to chip much quicker than any other nail polish I’ve tried. But they have the most beautiful array of colors to choose from. Right now on my toes I have a peachy neon color that is just so darling, especially with a tan.

Nu·Me Hydrating Shampoo: I’m never one to turn away from shampoos, especially hydrating one’s. I love to rotate shampoos in the shower, so my hair doesn’t get used to one particular kind. This one is great, since my hair is quite dry at the ends, and always have been. Love giving it an extra little oomf with some products like this. I will not be purchasing the full sized version of this, because I do have a lot of samples to go through.

Pure + Simple Calming Cucumber Mask: I’m still not sure whether or not I am supposed to apply this mask and wash it off, or leave it on as if it were like a serum on my face. This clean, sleek packaging is great — plus it’s a nice sized sample and will definitely have 2 or 3 uses when I do use this product. It has a light green look to it, and feels like silk when rubbed on my skin. The scent of cucumber is so strong, but it’s such a fresh scent that I don’t mind it at all. It’s great!

Sampar Hydrating Moisturizer: This is a pretty high end moisturizer which I’ve yet to use. I’m planning on going to Ottawa within the next few weeks so I’m saving these samples until then. I know for sure that Glymm has Sampar in their shop. I’m excited to try this out.

Here is a video I did about the July’s TopBox:

Glymm raises their prices

Yes, Glymm has raised their beauty box prices. But fret not folks!!

Members who are already receiving boxes and have been subscribed to Glymm will still benefit from the $10/box. New members signing up will have to pay the $12/month.

But Glymm has a promotion on the go where if you are looking to sign up for a box, you get the same discount as old members, if you sign up for the full year! (I know, it gets a little confusing).

Sign up here to get 6 month = $60. 12 month sign up = $108.

Are you a fan of monthly beauty boxes?

I am, but the boxes are getting a little overwhelming. I receive my GlossyBoxes for free due to the referrals, I pay for Glymm boxes and TopBoxes. I unsubscribed from Loose Button because I disliked their services and duplicate products.
