SinfulColors Catch Spring Fever 2015

A day late getting up the Beauty Talk Tuesday post, but better late than never. I picked out 5 of the 24 spring SinfulColors nail polish that came out for Spring. Here are my honest opinions about them (even if I did get them for review).

SinfulColors-Energetic-RedEnergetic Red by SinfulColours was a basic red colour, not the most flattering of reds I’ve tried on, and not intense and vibrant as I would have hoped. Although I dig the shade of fiery orange red, I feel like it’s missing a bit more pizzaz if you will.

SinfulColors-ThimbleberryThimbleberry: I was surprised that I liked this shade of pink on my nails. I kept it on for a few days (after I re-painted them all after all the swatching I did for this post). It’s a nice colour for either the toes or fingers this spring. A nice cheery watermelon shade.

SinfulColors-Flight-To-SeeFlight To See: I’m definitely not a fan of this one, but I can appreciate it because I know so many people love an opalescent shimmer to their polishes. I would tell you to skip this one because it applied streaky and the nail polish was really liquidy, which was a bit weird. If I were to continue using this colour, I’d keep it on my toes and even then I’d rarely paint them this colour. Unfortunately this one is a flop for me.

SinfulColors-PetalBeTheDayPetal Be The Day: Super fun sparkly top coat! I’m pretty sure any sparkle polish with blue and purple flecks is bound to make me happy. At a $1.99 I’d definitely pick this one up. It doesn’t look pretty in the bottle, and looks murky, but applied on the nails it goes on clear with gorgeous sizes of glitter, and applies great.

SinfulColors-TempestTempest: A soft lavender. Another huge favourite of mine, probably because I am a spring baby! I love the creamy milky look this gives to the nail. Again, totally would buy this one given the awesome price, and requires just two coats of polish to achieve an opaque shiny look.

SinfulColors are $1.99/each and is available for Spring 2015 at Walgreens and other mass retailers. Follow SinfulColors on Twitter & Facebook.

Flirt With Hearts

Valentines-NailsYou guys voted and I delivered. Another weekly feature (first one being Pomeranian Fridays duh), that I hope to keep up on the regular! Let’s dive right in to the first Beauty Talk Tuesday.

It’s time to create some Valentines Day nails, and I’m excited that I can finally photograph these nail photos with ease, since my husband bought me a handy mini tripod for Christmas.

SinfulColorsColours shown left to right: Gogo Girl, Love Sprinkles, Dream On, Decadent.

Channel your inner cupid, whether you prefer baby pinks, vibrant reds, muted violets or an unexpected pop of teal. The new SinfulColours collection features eight nail polishes (only 4 shown) are so affordable and budget friendly. So dazzle up those nails, spoil yourself and get a manicure using one of these great polishes.

SinfulColors-LoveSprinklesIf you’re more of the subtle type yet still want to be a bit playful, try a natural nude pink polish and apply Love Sprinkles on an accent finger. As much as I despise removing glitter polish, I simply can’t stay away from them. Love Sprinkles is a gleaming top coat with tons of baby pink and white flecks of glitter and every once in a while you will get a gorgeous tiny little heart come out onto the nails.

Decadent-and-GogoGirlAdding a touch of flirty to your manicure, try applying two thin coats of Gogo Girl — a gorgeous candy apple red, and as you know I am a huge fan of that one accent nail. So go ahead and apply Decadent, a dazzling red with metallic flakes to a couple of the nails.

SinfulColors-Dream-ONLastly we have a mattifed white polish for the base and the gorgeous plum Dream On painted on as triangles (I used washi tape to create the stencil on my nail). Dream On is a brilliantly induced boysenberry (with this I would suggest using three coats). When I first received these, Dream On was the one I was dying to try out first. Two coats and some of my nails looked darker than the others. While this colour has potential, it requires a lot of work. You will need to apply a top coat on this one too, as the polish looks a bit cheap (you know, dry looking) without it.

SinfulColors are $1.99/each and is now available at Walgreens, Rite Aid and other mass retailers. Follow SinfulColors on Twitter & Facebook. Disclaimer: The nail polishes were sent to me by the PR team. Opinions are my own, I’d like to keep it that way, since I like tellin’ ya how it is.

Come back next Tuesday for a Valentines Day get ready with me post, featuring a few new products coming out for Spring 2015.

A subtle approach to Halloween

You guys know I’m not working right now, so I don’t have any plans for dressing up on the 31st along with my co-workers. Though, I suppose technically I could dress up and do a skype video to my old co-workers in Canada and join in on their fun festivities that I’m sure they have already planned. I’d be up for that.

Do you remember me dressing up as Mary Katherine Gallagher, the hilarious chick from Saturday Night Live?mary-katherine-gallagher

What about the nerd, with her asthma inhaler and pants pulled up to her boobies?nerd2012_2

This year I’m taking a subtle approach to Halloween costumes and I’m going to simply decorate my nails. I’ve had my nails polished

I tweeted out to my old co-worker Amy (that now has a beauty blog!) I enjoy Sally Hansen, Dior and SinfulColours nail polishes. They are all have one thing in common: a nice sized brush. Two being relatively cheap since you can pick them up at the drug store. I cannot for the life of me paint my nails with a smaller brush, it simply won’t look neat. I’ve given up, and gave most my Essie + OPI polishes away. The first and only SinfulColours I bought was a few months ago when I tested out the nail polish racks at Walmart, and for under two bucks I got a completely opaque perfect white for myself, that you see me wearing on the regular.

A PR company reached out to me, I suppose they saw the SinfulColours pictures on my blog or Instagram, and asked if I wanted to receive five more. Sureeee, why not I say.

I’m not a sparkly nail polish person, because hot dang it is a b-oh to get off with any and all nail polish removers, but I could deal with it for a special occasion or two. So here we go. A subtle approach to Halloween with decorative nails.

SinfulColorI received the four Tricked Out Top Coats that are all sparkly, and one glow in the dark colour which was much cooler than I thought it was going to be. Imagine waking up in the middle of the night, forgetting you painted your nails and you look down to glowing fingers. Trippy!

Sinful-Colors-Halloween-201 Left to right: Cauldron Coutour, Mystery Moonshine, Glow In The Dark, Splatter Spell and Pumpkin Spice.

Sinful-Colors-on-nails

Pumpkin Spice and everything nice. This could be easily applied on neutrals, reds, whites and blacks for a completely different effect whether it be for cool autumn days sipping on your Pumpkin Spiced Lattes or for a subtle sparkle to your ring finger to play along and get festive for Halloween. The white polish underneath is a Sinful Colour in “Snow Me White” required only one coat for a completely opaque look.

Splatter Spell is a chunkier glitter with big flakes of copper bits through it.

Cauldron Coutour, a flakey emerald green that can be perfectly paired with a black nail polish as the base to pull of a pure Wicked Witch of the West look.

Mystery Moonshine looks more like a fun birthday confetti than a Halloween colour and it’s fantastic over white nails.

Lastly a shot of the Glow In The Dark nail polish, that definitely works. Hah!Sinful-Color-GlowInDark
