A trip home and a surprise….

It’s been 3.5 years since we’ve flown anywhere, and back in June we flew to our home: Newfoundland – for a whole month! It was as fantastic as you’d imagine it being, after being away for so long. My youngest hadn’t met any of our family members, so it was great to introduce him to everyone.

I was not prepared for all the humidity in Newfoundland however. So many days were spent outdoors exploring either in the shade, or in the water and/or water parks since many of the homes do not have air conditioning. Hard to leave home though, whether it be home for a week or home for a month – it never feels long enough. Some sad to go b’y.

Well, we did leave Newfoundland just last week and have a bit of news to share. Baby # 3 is set to arrive at the end of 2023! I took my boys and I this morning to Stanford’s Arizona Cactus Garden to do some photos with my tripod, self timer and their big brother tops from a small shop called Spunky Stork. Love how they came out!

Bebs is a big brother!

Bebs is going to have an adventure buddy for life!

Our family has been growing for 20 weeks, and I’m excited to announce we’re expecting baby # 2 due late November. Already growing well and measuring ahead (another big baby!). We’ve found out the gender of our baby quite early on – but wondering if you have any guesses as to what we’ll be having? I’ve been dying to share this new with you all for so many months. Being pregnant with bebs I announced it at 18 weeks.

At my last OBGyn appointment the other week, I questioned my Dr as to why I hadn’t been having so many appointments with this pregnancy as I did with bebs. He told me “well, for a non-dramatic person, you certainly had a lot of drama with your last pregnancy, didn’t you?” – even though he only saw me from 37 weeks on, since I switched OBgyns/Insurance at the last possible minute and it was the best decision of my life (although a little stressful, trying to get in with that “fave doc” of mine). It all worked out! Well, who knew – I mean, I kinda knew there was some high risk stuff going on with bebs but seeing as it was my first pregnancy I had no idea what was “normal” and what wasn’t with regarding seeing so many Docs. Ha! Consider my naive.

Routine OB appointments have been strange of course, as I’ve been going alone. Scott hasn’t been allowed to join me in the doctors offices for these joyful moments of seeing baby on the ultrasound screens or hearing the heartbeat. Hanging out in the waiting room with other women, trying to smize with your eyes to be friendly with everyone quietly sitting in the waiting room while we all wear face masks and remain 6+ft apart to promote safety and to meet COVID guidelines.

Now I need another Instagram handle to come up with (see @minikerms here), heehee!!

Hooray the news is out! The end!

Coming February 2018

2016 brought with it a lot of grievance in my life, with my favourite person in the world passing — my Father. I was told it was so hard because our relationship was so good.

You could say things turned completely around as 2017 has been a great year thus far, with exciting adventures that lie shortly ahead for us. For the last 18 weeks I’ve been quietly working on our latest one. Our baby is set to arrive early February, and we are beyond stoked for this new adventure! In case you didn’t hear, this is why I’m smiling ear to ear. I can’t wrap my head around that there’s two brains let alone heartbeats going on in my body. 18 weeks of you and me baby.

Big news over here folks, a little baby is on its way. We know the sex but won’t be announcing on the blog for a little bit — how annoying am I? I feel like I’ve been hiding a little secret from you guys for what seemed like forever. I mean, it pretty much has been forever: 18½ weeks! It’s definitely going to be quite the change, and Alfie will no longer be the ‘only child’. This will be the first grandchild for my in-laws, and my Mom’s 5th grandchild.

I can’t wait to update you all on this pregnancy. Naturally, I’ll write about it, but because the Mister and I are pretty private people I’m not sure how often. Let’s hope it’s more often than not — I’ve been writing a few secretive posts about all the feels as each week has passed.

So, I suppose you could say that’s why I have been a little MIA from the blog. Seemed odd to be updating you on makeup, and beauty and “hiding” this from you for a while. This is what has been on my mind (and in my belly) this entire time.

Let the new chapter begin…
