But I really have to pee!

Picture this. You’ve noticed that you let your nails and cuticles get a little wild and out of hand (I love a good pun), so you’ve decided to give yourself an at home manicure on a chill weekend afternoon.

Seems easy enough, right?

Well, maybe for you. But it never fails, whenever my nails seem to be wet and I’m trying ever so hard to get them to dry faster I either have an itch where I need my nails, or I have to go pee. Dilemma. Why didn’t I remember to wear my stretchy pants and where is a piece of sandpaper where I can rub my face on to scratch my itch?

Don’t fret, Sally Hansen to the rescue! Was that cheesy? Sorry.dry-and-go-drops

Honestly though, whomever invented quick drying drops whether it be from Seche Vite, or Sally Hansen — I freaking love them.

The Sally Hansen one’s aren’t a brush that you apply over top of your polish to try them. They’re actually in a little bottle with an eye dropper that you squeeze onto your nail.dry-and-go

One drop will do, per nail and you can go on your merry little way in as little as 60 seconds. Yes!Sally-Hansen-dry-and-go

Have you seen them in stores yet? You can buy it now. It retails for $8.95 and is available at select drug and mass retailers across Canada.

Doowop cafe, and a Target haul

Sally NailsLike my nails and nail sticker? The nails are my favorite color everrrr (Sally Hansen Pink Slip, and Essie nail sticker).

nail polishLooks like I’m a big fan of neutral nail polishes ;)

Totally random picture before I jump jive and wail into this post…

I haven’t used iTunes in about 5 years. Not for any particular reason, I just have been relying on the boyf’s music for the past few years and never really had the urge to buy/download music, as I was pretty pleased with my play lists. Last year I sent my iPod back to Apple to get a brand new one for free (something was wrong with all of the original iPod nano’s and we got new square one’s for free). Since then I’ve been missing some of my music that I downloaded from the past.

On Sunday, I decided it was time to break out the old school tunes. I was always told I was raised in the wrong decade due to my taste in music. I absolutely love Fats Domino, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and even a bit of Otis Williams. So rather than hunt down new songs to buy and make me broke, I decided to google “internet radio from the 50’s” and came across this Tune In Radio. Gotta say, as soon as “Gumdrop – Otis Williams” came on I couldn’t control my dancing feet and I’m pretty sure the boyf had a ball just laughing at me and … even joining me in a dance or two, whether he likes to admit or not! The music station isn’t the best of quality but I don’t really care that much. I just love that type of music, and it makes me want to dance.

I wasn’t planning on talking about my Target purchases since I didn’t think it was very blog-worthy but a few people commented and e-mailed me, asking me to chat about it a little bit.Target Loves Canada

I went to two of the new Target Canada locations (Cambridge, and Guelph) and was not disappointed. Probably because I had my expectations set low due to the people reporting back saying it was not the best since a few things were out of stock. Well, duh – that’s because it’s only a soft launch and the grand opening hasn’t happened yet. So I was prepped to not find my Sonia Kashuk hidden concealer palette.

target-flats

I picked up these lovely copper toed flats (as my co-workers said). Heck man, they’re rose gold baby! $19.99 at that.

I also spotted some inexpensive watches ($24.99 for the rose gold one shown below!). Mind you, it was cheap, but didn’t really look like it! Looks like the Fossil one’s. Target Watch

Speaking of Fossil. The wallets at Target looked like a total knock off, of the wallets I spotted in Fossil recently. They looked the same, but they certainly didn’t feel as soft and wonderful as Fossil wallets. Wallets

Have you been to any of the new Target Canada stores yet? I bought a few other things at the Guelph location when I was there 2 weekend’s ago (striped pillow cases, cute jewlery and some nice looking placemats!).

Low carb into paleo

It’s been a half-arsed kind of day. I slept in but as soon as I woke up I was running full tilt non-stop. First up I made a big breakfast for the Boyfriend and I. More like a brunch due to the time it was served. steel cut oats

Then we were still hungry so Boyf made some steel cut oats for us which I topped off with Redpath organic agave nectar and frozen blueberries. It was the perfect amount of sweetness for the oats.

I’m trying to cut back on my sugar consumption as much as possible. Anyone who knows me, knows that I eat … well, not the best food in the entire world. McDonalds and candy being my two favorite things to devour. So, I’m starting to think I should take up the paleo 30 day challenge. Not only because I find that wheat may have an effect on my eczema, but also because I’m checking in with someone. I’m liable per say. If I’m challenged, I won’t want to fail. If I start it on my own and don’t tell anyone about it, I will sneak in a chocolate bar here, or a bag of skittles there.

I’m scared to be honest. I don’t want to be tired and cranky and go through sugar “withdrawals”. Because I’m scared, it makes me want to do it more, to see how well I do. Know what I mean?

It doesn’t start til next month and I’m starting to slowly not take in as much sugar, gluten and dairy. Ugh, it’s a pain in the butt let me tell you that much. So I’ve done a bit of research and even though it’s not paleo, it’s helpful: the low carb grocery store has some great recipes that look mouth watering. Not only that, those google plus albums I linked also shares store deals and have some great articles. Check it out if you’re looking for some low carb foods.

What has your Saturday night looked like thus far? I gave myself an at-home manicure with these Essie nail stickers which I think are terrible.nails

They’re thick and they don’t stay on as well as the Sally Hansen one’s I’ve used. But I also heard that Sally Hansen one’s dry out quicker than the Essie one’s. Good thing I didn’t spend any money on these Essie one’s since I got an offer in the mail, and they came with a few samples. Cute, but like putting masking tape on your finger nails. Ugh. Brutal. I’d go with the Sally Hansen ones if I were you.

Oh, aren’t these cute by the way? Owl trinket things I picked up from Michael’s craft store yesterday while on my lunch break. They were only a $1.50 each!owl trinkets

K, I’m out!
