San Diego recap [Day 3 part 1]

Day 3 was filled with an actress spotting! I caught her on film — you’ll see in the photos below. We shopped, drank at the hotel pool, and went to a CheeseburgHer party. Oh just you wait and see…

Anyone that knows me, already understand my love for McDonalds. So when I ran into Ronnie himself, I had to get a few snaps of us together, along with his autograph. McDonalds was giving out coupons (only valid in the US unfortunately) and some apple slices and other snacks. Aww, I. Y. Q too Ronald McDonald!Took some silly photos at the Proctor & Gamble booth.

Sesame Street was also there! I totally love Cookie Monster. Is Gonzo still on Sesame Street? He was my favorite… I think my nephews will enjoy this photo (they’re 4 and 5) as they love Elmo :)

Oscar. What a grouch! ;)

I spotted the actress from Bridesmaids Movie (also starring on the show Reno 911), who was filming what I assume was a commercial for Hillside Farms. They had all sorts of samplers out for us to try. I stayed at that booth for a while, trying all the different food. We didn’t even need to eat lunch! Just grab some food at the expo! Bonus.

Day three and we still hadn’t laid on a beach. Shannon and I headed straight to the hotel pool and ordered some Mojito’s, stat. I’ve never had a moijto before, and unfortunately my taste buds didn’t like them. This is also the day I got burnt to a crisp. Ugh. Drinking, sunny breezy days don’t mix.

Everything about the hotel pool was breathtaking. It looked like a rainforest resort. Sans rain ;)

Relaxing sitting area with towering palm trees.

Another spot up a level from where the pools were, with steel buildings fire pits and benches!

I have to say. I think laying at poolside with Shannon and having girl talk was one of my favorite moments about the San Diego trip. It was so relaxing.

How could you not be happy in this place? Look at the pure blue sky bliss with perfect palm trees. Swoon.

The “beach” as I referred to it as, seems quite crowded in this photo. But it didn’t feel like it while I was there. Perhaps I was oblivious.

Cheers to us, Shannon!

I had my nails shellacked before going down to San Diego. They held up well, and still are going strong a week and a half later!

Pure bliss!

One of my favorite photos. The palm tree, and our Marriott hotel.

View from our beach loungers.

Whoop. A few empty cups there, time to head inside! Stay tuned for part two of day three later!

Sunny San Diego recap [Day 2 part 2]

Later, we were hungry so we ended up walking over to the Gaslight District to an Irish pub called The Field.

The mirrored elevator in our hotel!

Feeling goofy getting off the elevator heading to our room. We decided to dress up and head over to SparkleCorn, an after party. Jess let me borrow her dress, which I was hesitant onwearing at first since I felt like a Bridesmaid.  lol. But I clearly I was okay with it after a while. Like our Prom photo? All dolled up for a night at Sparklecorn!

I seriously dance like this. I’m so awkward. But at least I had fun!

I love this photo of Shannon and I dancing.

We quickly took it to the stage and ended up dancing on there for a while. I couldn’t get enough of the dance floor, clearly! That’s all I have for Day 2! See you tomorrow for another recap :)

Sunny San Diego recap [Day 2 part 1]

Day 2 we started off by visiting the Expo again.

There was a Mr. Potato Head challenge, we had to re-create the look of what the booth-lady was doing in so many seconds, and we’d win a prize. I lost. lol.

There was a Febreeze “experiment” where we had to sign waivers, and enter a room blindfolded. I thought we were going to get sprayed by Febreeze. I feel drunk when I’m blind folded, all stumbly.

But no, we were actually being FILMED. If you’re a friend on my facebook, you can see the video there. It won’t let me embed the video here, and since my computer is broke I can’t upload it for you guys to see.

We headed upstairs to go to some of the seminars, where I also bumped into Kristin from Iowa Girl Eats! I didn’t have my camera on me, but it was so nice to finally get to meet her after reading her blog for a few years. I love it when people are just what you expected / and how they appear on their blog. So fun!

The photo below was taken on the roof top of the Marriott Convention Centre. Pretty, huh?

Hershey’s had a wonderful room set up like a campfire. I made my very first smore ever. It kinda tasted like a cookie. I think smores are more of a central/western thing. I’ve never made them while living in Newfoundland before.Shannon and I making smores. Cute little fire pit going on for our marshmallows.

Twizzlers had three monuments made completely out of twizzlers. This tower thing, a Statue of Liberty, and the Golden Gate bridge. So fun!

Time for a pee break at Charmin!I think Kudos booth hired some models. Check out the Ken-barbie doll model like men. Hawties! Can you spot my business “card”? Here’s a hint: it’s a button ;)

I liked handing out my business card/button to people because everyone I gave it to, stared at it a bit longer than they would’ve a normal business card. I think it was a neat move on my part, but I would’ve probably also liked to bring business cards to put in door prize draws. I’m not sure who’s going to be picking up buttons for giveaways.

Anyway, stay tuned for part two of day two later!
