Discover Tunnel Tops Playground: San Francisco’s Must-Visit Family Spot with Epic Views

If you haven’t been to the Tunnel Tops playground in San Francisco yet, stop what you’re doing, pack up the kids, and go. This place is pure magic—a perfect blend of breathtaking views, imaginative play spaces, and that unmistakable is a Bay Area vibe that makes you feel alive. I’m telling you, this spot has it all, and has become one of my favourite places to take the boys when we’re in the city.

The views— wow. Perched above the Presidio, Tunnel Tops offers jaw-dropping panoramas of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and the sparkling waters of the Bay. It’s the kind of view that makes you pause and just soak it all in. Whether you’re a local or visiting from out of town, it’s a postcard-perfect backdrop that never gets old.

The space is filled with natural elements like logs, climbing structures, and slides that blend seamlessly into the landscape. My boys were in heaven, running from one activity to the next, climbing, balancing, and letting their imaginations run wild. There’s something for kids of all ages here, which makes it a win for families with little ones and big kids alike.

And can we talk about the vibes? This place just feels good. It’s got that relaxed, community-centered energy where everyone’s just enjoying the moment. Families picnicking on the grass, kids playing, couples taking in the views—it’s the kind of place that reminds you how special San Francisco really is.

There are wide, accessible pathways, plenty of seating, and open areas that make it easy to relax and enjoy the day. And did I mention it’s free? This kind of experience at no cost feels like such a gift. There are bathrooms available on-site (lifesaver!), and the playground operates from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the day. Plus, it’s dog-friendly, so your sweet little pupper dog friends are welcome to join the fun.

Whether you’re looking for an incredible playground, a gorgeous spot for a picnic, or just a place to unwind with your family, Tunnel Tops is it. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again.

See you at Tunnel Tops!

Exploring Bay Area Playgrounds: Braly Park

For the longest time, I didn’t know what to do with my website. I always enjoy writing here and updating you, and I noticed I hadn’t updated in FOUR months. Holy jeeze. I want to get better with that, now that I’m a bit better with my time management after having two boys. I have a little system/schedule going now, and I can definitely fit some time in for blogging these days. So hello, again! Let’s jump into what I randomly came up with this morning…

My boys and I enjoy heading out to the forest for adventures or visiting the local playgrounds in the Bay Area/Silicon Valley (similar style to my Exploring Coffee Shops back in the day). I decided to create a somewhat weekly post about the ones we’ve been going to for the past couple of years, and finding new ones. I had been posting and sharing about these on my Instagram page each time we come across a new-to-us one, and now I’m also going to document about it here (you know, in case instagram decides to shut down randomly one day and I lose everything I ever posted!).

Braly Park, Sunnyvale California
704 Daffodil Ct, Sunnyvale CA 94086

Braly Park is a Japanese-themed park and is located on 5.6 acres of land. There’s a decent sized parking lot, off street.

This playground has a huge field for playing with your kids, flying a kite, throwing ball to your pup. There’s a bathroom on site, 3 picnic areas with electrical outlets, horseshoe pit, shuffleboard and sand volleyball court (no nets). I haven’t seen anyone play volleyball while there, but the kids seem to love playing in the sand and the water from the splash pad drains down into the sand creating a lovely experience for those that enjoy playing in the muck! Ha! Tip: If ever playing in sand/wet sand/sunscreen + sand, bring baby powder. Dash it onto the areas where you’re full of sand and it removes it like nothin’ I’ve ever seen. Wild.

I’m all about playgrounds that don’t have wood chips. Wood chips have a tendency to get everywhere: in our shoes, splinters, and landing on them when you have a new walker isn’t comfortable either. This is a great playground and the entire area is cushiony/soft/spongy material. Not sure of the technical term ;)

It has a play structure for older kids, and a toddler area with tons of shade, and a few musical instruments for the kids to make some tunes. We love the small frog splash pad area and sand. My boys could spend hours here.

Definitely check this one out!

OOTD

I haven’t been feeling well the last week or so. I think it’s due to the weather shift. One minute it’s 12 degrees and misty outside, the next it’s 32 and a scorcher of a day. Anyway, I can’t wait to get rid of this aggressive cough – otherwise I feel grand and dandy – minus the two random days where I actually got sick sick. That’s never fun.

But what’s fun is more OOTDs. Yay. Hope you’re enjoying them like I used to post way back in the day. These pics were from a few weeks ago, but that’s what happens when I’m a tired mama. I don’t get time to post as regularly as I’d like. I’d rather shut everything down (ie: my body lol) when I put bebs down for the night. Anyway too many excuses! Let’s get onto the post:

Alfie will be TEN YEARS OLD in a few days. Can you believe it?

You’re not gonna believe where this sweater is from. I’ll tell you below in the details. I LOVE it. It comes in many colours, but make sure if/when you buy it you have a coupon.

Here Alfie’s in mid-bark because he sees my husband and bebs coming home from a run with the jogging stroller.

The foolish side of me then comes out. Trying to make bebs laugh ;)

Outfit details:
Sunnies: Rayban
Sweater: Old Navy
Belt: American Eagle (circa 2004 or so lol)
Jeans: Articles of Society (one of my faves, find them at Nordstrom!)
Shoes: Lucky Brand (but bought them at TJMaxx!)
